I remember when I started hunting, I went looking for hours and hours and hours and hours with little or no luck.  Unfortunately, it happens to nearly every new hunter.  It can be very frustrating and disheartening, but I encourage you to keep getting out and looking, cause as you do, you start to get better not only in where to look, but also where not to look too.  I remember a member (mushroom_spider) from a few years ago (Tassie thread 2013 & 14) that went through similar to what you're going through atm.  At first he struggled to find any but eventually the guy was finding them all over the place.
So the advice I give you is to just keep looking (and don't give up).

Another thing that I suggest to you and new members is to go through older Tassie or Victorian actives threads from previous years (around 2013-2016) (Vic has more post, pictures and discussions).
I found that if you read the whole thread you can pick up some handy information and it also helps to get more familiar with what subs look like.

Also, check out this thread which is all about habitats shots from Australia of where subs were found. It's a good thread to check out too.

Good luck for the rest of the year and for the years to come.  There's still some time left in this season so if I was you, I'd be hunting at every possible moment.  No matter how you go for the rest of this year remember, each hunt you go on is a opportunity to learn and the more you learn, the better you'll get.  Once winter ends, keep an eye out for potential spots so that next year you have places to already look at.

Congratulations on your first successful hunt.  If you've never had magic mushrooms before, you're in for a amazing experience   .

Just in case you don't have a system for drying and storage of shrooms yet.  Use the search function to read posts about doing just so (most people use dehydrators or fans).

When it's time to store (they've gotta be cracker dry (or very close to) the main thing you want to do is keep them in a airtight container. You also need to remove moisture from the container too so find some way of using desiccant to remove all the moisture.  If you don't get rid of the moisture?, It's my understanding it will cause the dried mushrooms to lose their active ingredient, rendering the dried mushrooms useless.  Correctly stored mushrooms can last for a few years according to what I've read on this site.

Just ask if you need help on drying and storage.

I'd roughly guess that you've got around 5 to 10 grams when your finds are finally dried.  As for how much to take, you may want to do a search on this site for previous post on what's a good amount to start on, but id say go for at least 2.5grams.  I recon 3grams (or 3.5) would be better, as it should give you a good mildly powerful trip.
(btw not something you need to worry about now, but when you get the chance, do a search of mushroom tolerance).

On the subject of consuming magic mushrooms, there are three common ways most people eat them;

1. Just eating the mushrooms (dried or fresh). Can taste yucky (but it's not too bad)
2. Making shroom tea
3. Lemon Tek(ing)

Again I recommend a search on consuming to help you decide.

The only thing I would add is that 3-3.5g dried can definitely give you more than a "mildly powerful trip". Especially if it's your first encounter with shrooms or psychedelics in general.

I would not advise any more than 1-1.5g dried for someones first experience without knowing them personally.

The variability in potency and a person's mind is far too important to safely recommend a mid-high level dose for their first encounter.

This is great advice guys listen to this post because I did not. Had 3.3 the first time beautiful experience, ‘ego loss’ is achievable on that amount alone. Tried 5.6 then 5.2 a fortnight later trying to be Terrence McKenna and both times had terrible anxiety and thought the world was legit ending.they were insightful experiences but they are not for everyone, work your way up. I will be starting from 2.5 next time. High doses keep you away from shrooms for 6 months or more, that is my experience anyway. Safe travels everyone.

You're gonna need to spend a decades worth of luck to find some at this time of year unfortunately!

You'll have to wait till April next year before they start coming again
