Close...Stropharia

They are Pluteus, wine cap, ovoid.  I kept the wine caps I found for a little frying tonight.

Also, lesson learned today.

I only found a couple ovoids today (7) at a spot that I said in my mind "oh...not to bother there, I haven't found any there" only to glance right at one as soon as I completed the sentence.  Like they said: oh yeah......

Thx again for the privilege of helping to map those spots.  The data pattern from the second two was wicked cool and deserves more scrutiny.

A great time was had by all and observing over 1,000 fruits in one day from only natural patches, zero mulch fruits, is something I won't soon top.

So are you saying in areas like that, I have a small window of maybe a week where mushrooms fruit and these things haven’t died yet to spoil them? Or do the mushrooms still grow through the moldy stuff?

I will ruin a mushroom after a while. It gets easier when it’s gone becasue the mushrooms aren’t hidden under a green carpet
