I take it you live in Virginia? Why not just go pick some yourself this year? there are loads of Ovoids in Virginia. They are certainly easier to find than Caerulipes, I bet you'd have no problem at all.

I've got a funny feeling they've never made it to my side of the mountains, I've searched most every major stream and river within many miles of my location . The Rivannah river in Charlottesville is a known hot spot, as well as the tributaries of the Potomac/Shenandoah merge + down river. But it sure feels like my geographic region is ovoid-free
