Why do i have to have the same definitions for words then you do? What is wrong with having not exactly the same meanings for concepts? As long as i can make myself be understood then it doesn't matter if have 'biased' ideas about the meaning of words.

In fact Mushroomtrip was so upset about being pushed into believing 'God' was in control. But how about other peoples definitions for the things you know being in control? How about that?

That's the thing; how do you expect yourself to be clearly understood if you're not speaking the same language as the people whom you are speaking to/with? :strokebeard:

But i do speak the same language, it's just very difficult to make myself understood often because i have different meanings for words then most people have. I will say 'ownership' and have a very sprecise idea what that means. For someone else it has a different meaning and then they say that i say something that is not possible and we argue about what is being said and it's really tough to convince them that i know what i mean but that they are seeing it differently.

About the others being in control. Your concepts were given to you and you integrated them into 'your way' of thinking. But did you really invent the meanings or did you just pick up what the other said, and adapted that what you already knew? Because in that case, you are not you, you are them!

Then try to define them.

If you have different definitions for terms, then you probably need to define them intelligibly in order to be understood.

I guess it's a combination of both; I learned the meanings that I picked up from what "the other" said.

Ofcourse you are always you, but the you that you are may be very much the same like any other 'you' if you do not reïnvent the meaning of words for yourself.

no im not.
to be honest with you , i find the notion of god being defined ridiculous to begin with.
i merely use the word 'god' since its something we can agree on knowing very little about

you're absolutely right.
i know very little about you hence comments on who you are would indeed be very inappropriate.

but i wasn't talking about who you are.

you can consider this an error

I am willing to believe in the existence of any of those gods who can make their appearance, even though wouldn't imply any submission of any sort from my side.

I hope you're referring to you and that one poster cause most of humanity thinks they know exactly what god is. (whatever their religion told them to think)

Yeah, then this means that I have no rational idea what 'I am god' means.  I've intuitively felt this before, particularly while on DMT, but the concept definitely needs further analysis to understand what the hell we're even talking about.

I see belief in god as being like a boat.  Humans may have developed certain mental faculties of abstract or categorical reasoning through the idea of god, which is sort of the "ultimate" gestalt concept.  If that is the case, then we owe a lot to the idea of god, but owe nothing to god itself, because we've never actually met in any anthropomorphic sense.
