So you see that while your story is very interesting it doesn't prove anything except to you.

Icelander,
I see this undertone throughout many of your posts. You take the stance, 'to each his own', but with words of subtle reluctance.
What would you have your fellow man believe?

Of course I have my own belief system and have a bias towards it.

I would have my fellow men believe what I do of course.

Interesting. I believe in cellular signalling.

I hope you do too.

And What could cause you to disbelieve if you believed once?  This thing I do not understand.

Growing in experience and the understanding of my own psychology and unconscious needs and motivations. You haven't been here long but I post on this all the time. Check out my death anxiety threads.

I believe that we cannot know the ultimate meaning of things and there is no evidence for a god. That we are animals like all other animals and will die one day and be gone forever. That our personal ethics is the most important thing for our personal happiness and giving something to the world. That science and rational thought give us the best opportunity to live a healthy and happy life and end the madness of human folly.

And i'm open to revising any of it at any time.

I a very wise man once, if he thought complete personal destruction of one's belief system was healthy.

He replied "Some say getting rid of cultural belief is freedom. But when everything else is lost, a man can turn to his beliefs for comfort."

I have not; what does any individual poster's criminal record have to do with the discussion at hand here?

Why would you worship anything, be it imaginary or real?

Because he created me, he loves me, and he is more than worthy of my praise.  I can't say enough about him.  He is the only thing that is good and true in this life.

You probably think of worship as most people do.  I think of it differently.  Worshipping to me is having a relationship with him.  Loving him enough to know that he knows what's best for me and I will follow him to the depths of the deepest hell if he asked me to.

I fail him every day and fall flat on my face.  But I love him enough to shake it off, get up, and keep walking.

If people realize it or not, they ALL, everyone, worship something.  Most people in this forum seem to worship and rely on their own thoughts and opinions.  I choose to rely on something that isn't as flawed as the human mind.

Why have thoughts and words when you can have power and demonstration?  My main goal in life is to find God's purpose for me and see it accomplished.  Others goals are different than mine.

I accept that.  I am just getting the word out there so that those who are like me can find it and we can come together and get out of here alive.  Soon.

So, it's here.  This is my story.  Hopefully it is His story as well.

The human mind created the bible.

From Higgs boson - Wikipedia:
Quote:
The Higgs boson is a massive scalar elementary particle predicted to exist by the Standard Model in particle physics. At present there are no known fundamental scalar particles in nature.

The Higgs boson is the only Standard Model particle that has not been observed. Experimental detection of the Higgs boson would help explain the origin of mass in the universe. The Higgs boson would explain the difference between the massless photon, which mediates electromagnetism and the massive W and Z bosons, which mediate the weak force. If the Higgs boson exists, it is an integral and pervasive component of the material world.

The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, which ran briefly on September 10, 2008 and was scheduled to become operational by late November 2009  is expected to provide experimental evidence as to the Higgs boson's existence or non-existence. An accident in September 2008 damaged the LHC; experiments at Fermilab continue previous attempts at detection (although hindered by the lower energy of the Fermilab Tevatron accelerator). It has been reported that Fermilab physicists suggest the odds of Tevatron detecting the Higgs boson are between 50% and 96%, depending on its mass.

I guess we'll have to wait a little bit in order to have an answer for that question, now, don't we? :sadyes:

Lol.  I took me  a minute to realize the Parrot was in here.  I was trying to figure out what you were saying.

"I believe that we cannot know the ultimate meaning of things and there is no evidence for a god."

Evidence of The Lord Jesus lies in William Branham's ministry.  I think  (and I could be wrong) that the Picture of The Pillar of fire still hangs in the Library of congress today as the only supernatural being ever proven by photograph.

Here is a page about it.  I didn't read the whole thing so I am not saying I agree to all of what this particular page says.  But I skimmed it and from what I can see it is pretty accurate.

Edit:  I am an idiot and forgot to post the link:

"the human mind created the bible"

So then In your opinion, all of those men, thousands of miles away from each other, thousands of years apart, just happened to write passages that dovetail together perfectly?  All the prophecies coming to pass is a just coincidence?  There are no contradictions in it.  I used to think so, but i can no longer see any.

Side note, I think I may have to unignore poid just to see what's being discussed in here. lol

Who cares if a man named Jesus lived? That proves nothing and I go through this same rebuttal of "proof" every time. Just because a man named Jesus lived does not prove in any way that the bible contains the words he wrote or that they are accurate or that there is a god or that that bible was inspired by a god.

Now having said that try taking this stuff to a forum where you don't have to provide proofs of what you believe. I like to call it the Mystery forum and it's right next door.

If God did give us the original bible, I bet he was like, when people started to translate it into other languages. I bet he was really like, when it was made into the Ebonics Bible.

I provided more than enough proof.  If you don't want to give it a chance then that's your problem not mine.  You say you are open minded but this is obviously a lie.  You aren't even reading what I am writing.

Proving the Man Jesus walked the earth proves nothing, you are right.  But The fact that he still lives and works miracles proves everything.

I am doubting your conversion more and more the more I speak to you.  Why don't YOU provide some proof?  And please, don't tell me where to go.  I don't tell you where to go.  If you don't like what I say, if you don't want to see the proof of the Truth, then ignore me.

God knows who are his and who are not.  If there is someone on this site that needs to see these posts, then they will.  I am not concerned with anyone else.

"If there is something in you, to recognize The Word of God, you WILL hear his voice."

I smell a puppet.:rofl2: Or are all fundy's completely irrational?

But The fact that he still lives and works miracles proves everything.

And please share your "evidence" of these miracles.:monkeydance:
