so stoked about that

Quankus, was that you who first came up with that Friscosa name? I know it wasn't me

I think people outside the area, and Workman, may be unaware of the semi-inside joke about the name Frisco, short for San Francisco

so workman, if you're reading this, just so you know some background on this . I figure you and others outside the area might as well know now http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2003/10/14/DD67721.DTL

you can also do a Google search for "frisco" or even "don't call it frisco'

it's sort of tongue in cheek, thumb your nose at the establishment...never bothered me at all and I've lived here all my life

I think some of us here would find it quite amusing if that ever became an offical name...hehe

yeah, here's 3 from today..2nd two are a tiny patch of friscosas. This morning was 29 degrees...Not really a problem....Not far away, the 1st photo, a nice large patch of red Hypholoma.

this type of large patch is something we see much more during a decent season, peak time. Right now this is relatively rare. During some really wet years you can see patches like that nearly everywhere along side freeways, roads

I think the peak this year will be after New Years...it's happened before, and they can fruit late

nice auweia! I hate hunting with sunlight, i would rather have over cast skys. The light gets too bright and its hard to look for stuff in the shadows

Some findings from GGP Sunday morning - My first hunt of the season. We Came out with about 130-140 g's wet.

My Haul

My friend's haul - was his first time hunting - I had to get on em for picking so many youngins but he was eager.

Some favorites.

haha, yeah sorry for the patch rape bro. it was the lonely patch that got forgotten. i was just sweeping the area and all of the sudden i see 3 little guys poking out, which led to more. then i found the biggest one of the day(almost 6 inches) all by itself within 30 ft of the lost patch. those jars set my aspiration for the next month

YES!!!
I agree 100%!  Try hunting in San diego!

When I was up in Mill Valley hunting, some broad came outta nowhere and looked at me and all "Sun!!! yay!"
I kinda looked at her with that same smile and nodding you give to the short bus kids when they run up to you and show you the pine cone they found.  "eh, heh..."
Unfortunately, in the Bay Area, you have no time to waste on sunny days, because the day-light is so fleeting.

I am passionate about powder days when it comes to skiing and I will not go up skiing unless its cloudy and snowing. People are always getting excited about good weather. Not me! I bundle up in goretex gear and brave the elements.
