THAT'S WHAT THOSE ARE!?!  :foreheadslap:

Do you actually dose those??  Too bad I didn't harvest those.

I also found some Blewits!!  Unfortunately, I wasn't thinking straight when i was picking them, and decided to only harvest the large ones, leaving the little, tender, NOT FULL OF WORMS mushrooms behind.  Well, at least i have prints.

Don't worry, you'll be back in the area soon enough and I am sure there will be more waiting for you since January is still very much peak season here.

I plan on trying some. They are getting extremely green for the larger ones after drying, so why not try them once?

I thought they were very pretty, so I did get a lot of pics.  I also took a print, which shoulda tipped my off, but I guess i was too busy with the cyans.  Lemme know how that trippin goes.

Unfortunately I don't have any established patches of cyanescens yet and only found about 30 mature specimens all of last year. I guess I really need to start hunting more frequently. Maybe I should just go to GGP and get my pant legs wet like many others?

Have you tried these Gymmies and if so, how were they?

maybe right now, I dunno...there's something to be said about that tall grass that keeps things moist..I went over to the east bay today and most exposed places were dry as a bone...barely any species....we're getting that east dry wind again

there's still hope tho with some upcoming rains maybe...alot of places haven't even started yet

Eureka! [Re: CureCat]
    #6384858 -

I finally have some pics to post in this thread! I got a decent haul from my local Bay Area park today. I believe these all to be cyans, but someone please prove me wrong! The majority of them were taken from the first spot I checked as soon as I got there! Most are very mature with some being quite large and robust for cyans. The mushrooms on the paper towel are the same as in the habitat pics and were the only ones from a different patch. These have smaller caps on average that seem to have less "wave" in the margin and more slender stalks. The more plane caps might just be because they're younger. Hmmm. Could the jumbos possibly be very mature fibs/friscosa sp. that were growing mixed in a cyan patch? Its hard to tell because their caps are upturned so much. Interesting...
Well, enjoy! I will ;-)

all cyans, nice finds!

Stop experimenting half way through your first grow. Grow it to maturity, watch it, learn from it. Do this a few times then experiment with different ideas and figure out what works best for you.

Thanks. I knew it! It still seems to me that the second patch are at least a different strain of cyan, but these more delicate traits could be caused by differing substrate/conditions etc.. They were found pretty far apart in slightly different habitat. I'll be back for more tomorrow. Muahahahaha!

nah, look at mushroom johns site, hes got tons of large cyans like that.
if you were thinking they might be friscosas, you will notice they much more closely resemble the cyanofibs.
nice finds none the less, gladd to see another great find
