If you can believe that Jesus was God AND man (and of course the whole God idea) ... God being God and all... (2) I don't see the trouble in conceiving a baby by his own will power alone. So if you look at it in that way then it can answer most of your questions. 1) About Jesus' realization... his physical mind's realization? man, that's interesting to think about, but I think it was underlying in his subconcious.... when reading about him... he preached as a little boy.. so I would guess it was ALWAYS automaticaly there... 3) I wouldnt think so because he wasn't the SEED of man, but of God... i think there MIGHT have been something in genesis that said something to extent that sin follows thru the man.. i'm not too sure, but God being God and all.... 4) Since he's God I would think that'd he'd be able to prevail over any temptation etc. I'm sure you have very good reasons for worrying about these things, but as I see it God is God and those things (in my mind) can be gotten past by realizing that God is all powerful/knowing and can get around little problems such as the ones you listed.

From the studies I've done, I'll try to answer your questions.
1) The only textual evidence I can think of is when he was a small child, ran off to the temple and had a discussion with the priests there
2) Yes, God. Although I've personally speculated that it may have been a freak genetic thing- hens have been known to generate offspring when sperm counts in the population are very low. It is very rare, and inconceivable in humans, but it's *some* kind of explanation nonetheless..
3) Actually, Mary was the only human with original sin to not have sinned beyond that. This is why she was chosen to bear Jesus.
4) Probably. But apparently he had a huge amount of willpower?

DNKYD if you don't have any supportive things to say then do not say them. The man was honestly asking for help and support.

God's a pretty hard ... being ... to understand; it's great to question things like that even after you've made the leap of faith into well, faith. Just remember that you are free to make your own choice despite what your parents say or believe. When the answers aren't cut and dry I think that's where faith REALLY comes into play.

drgonz said: Good question, cherry bomb. This is part of the christian rhetoric. I've read the bible quite a few times, but not by choice. My stepdad used to lock me in my room, and make me read chapters at a time, then write essays. Can you see the connection as to why I have an attitude against christianity. Nothing should be forced, we all need to find truth for ourselves
That's sincerely fucked up. (on your stepfather's part) What your stepfather did was wrong and you have to remember that christianity is not about bein forced into anything. (thus, the ability to chose heaven/hell)

I have a question now.
If we all decended from Adam and Eve, then using that logic inbreeding should be ok and 100% legal in the United States of Jesusland, no?
Wouldn't we all have 12 fingers and webbed feet?

He probably was a 100% hypocrite (or a REALLY REALLY bad christian) and you don't really need to worry about doing anything he was trying to force on you because he probably couldn't even force it on himself.
