Regardless of their use in disseminating information today, tweets are never, or, should really not easily be considered as being news worthy material.  At least not with any of the regularity that it seems to enjoy nowadays - even around these parts.

Our national taxpayer funded legacy media network (the Australian ABC), regularly uses information and videos from Twitter in their stories….and they’re apparently “fair and balanced” aka entirely left leaning and hardly objective.

So I rebut what you’ve just insisted upon.  In fact I’ve seen several commercial networks use them with marked frequency too.

I see them used very often as well.  That doesn’t seem to take away from my own personal opinion that such a practice is mostly an idiotic one, though.  At least not in the manner in which I’ve seen them being used anyway.
