Well that was the perfect amount of rain. It got pretty exciting for a bit with severe weather and apparently a significant tornado just went through Reston town center

Perfect amount of rain my ass!!!  We've been between bands all day and I thought the same until I seen the creek behind my house.

I would like to know where to look, how to identify them and what to pick to make sure not to kill the fungus.

Hey guys. Central PA here. First year hunting and I see some sort of shrooms popping up. Maybe someone can tell me what they are. They look similar to ovoids but they don't bruise blue. Spore prints are very dark black like. I will find some this year.

I find them a lot as well.  They pretty much live everywhere.

Coprinoids, and those dont usually grow in the prime ovoid habitat.

You need to look where the plants are more hydrophilic and less herbaceous.

DMV area's poppin brothers. my first ovoid find. :laugh:
They smell really similar to liberty caps for anyone else who's picked those before!
