Had a great time connecting with good people today. We found tons of super fresh dryads saddle, a black snake, some cherry centipedes and some Ovoid’s. I guess it’s time to put central VA on the map.

Yeah I meant to add that soybean is grown there and some years corn.

This is my spot on the river near my house.  I've hunted areas before & after that spot with NO LUCK.  Same habitat but no Ovoids. I could never figure out why?

This year with that area being completely wiped out & even the river changed (depth/course/size).  You'd think we'll the debris had to go somewhere & collect/pile up?  It didn't, it's gone, replaced with new debris & trash which I collect when I can.

Like you Ps.NoName, herbtaylor & many others, we'll continue to hunt until we find them again.


You find them growing directly in the debris? Or along the edges?

I have found them fruiting directly in debris piles like that, but also all around in the areas surrounding them.

it definitely survived the flood and wub went right to them after we dicked around at the more western spot (where we met to begin the hunt last year).  the other spots there are at least a couple weeks behind but it looks like even record flooding didn't do any damage to speak of to any of the spots at that place...now, across the river is a different story altogether (it's F'ed on that side but it was never a big producer anyway).

TempestD it was a glorious spot.  This year, totally wiped out by flooding.

Psyche delics I find them on, in & around debris piles.

Wub GREAT JOB!  That means my side of the mountains should be producing next week.

Which county were these finds? Just trying to get an idea how far behind I am...

Went for a quick walk down a woodchip path near a stream here in NoVa. For the first time since the fall I saw cap and stem gilled mushrooms growing out of the woodchips. We're getting closer.

those were south of richmond
