Should anti-gun Hollywood stop making movies with guns?

Liberals in Hollywood care about the children and the shootings.

Bandura's Bobo Doll study showed that kids do imitate adults, which means liberals better start following their own "virtues."

Why don't the anti-2A Hollywood elites stop making movies about killing and action packed gun violence?

Because of money?

No, the Hollywood elite should not halt funding to projects based on whether the artist intends to incorporate guns into their work

they prolly can easily wipe out the production of entire genres of film by simply stopping their support in making them

but it is my preference (ie: my view of what 'should' happen) that expression in media be as free as possible

the anti-gun elite should not be using corporate bullshit to obscure pro-gun artists from working

That’s better, though the first article says nothing.  If anything, it speaks more to what the consumer wants.  Why would actors (people who work for money) want to make a product that doesn’t sell?  Did you see the Matrix?

I agree with both of you.

Hollywood would technically stop encouraging consumers to socially learn about gun violence through movies. Why would they do this? Because they believe guns are bad. Otherwise, these kids are going to see the movies and possibly repeat, as in the Bo Bo Doll study.

It's hypocritical.

If I was making movies and I believed something was wrong, I wouldn't make it my center piece just because it sells.

Hollywood also glorifies drug use, violence against women, racism, sexual abuse and many other social ills.

Good point.

Does watching violence make people want to commit violence? An age old question of cause and effect, correlation and social influence.

The biggest reasoning is that movies are fantasy and are no supposed to be based completely on reality.

This seems oddly like asking for censorship in Hollywood to me. You guy's complain when extremeists on the internet are censored, but contemplate censoring an entire media industry is okay? You complain that we shouldn't take your guns, but then want to take our pictures and stories of guns?

It would also be interesting to see the audience for these movies, I'd put more blame on them than the ones making them and hollywoods audience is bipartisan.

I feel like people should be able to make whatever kind of movies they want, but I do wish they would make movies with less guns. Action movies are boring as fuck.

You have a bad habit of trying to frame someone's opinion that doesn't exist. It's called a strawman.

No one mentioned "censoring" at all, the hypocrisy in Hollywood was pointed out, that's it.

Nah,
you gotta make a bunch of movies about good guys with guns saving the day
so whenever something goes wrong in real life and there is no hero,
people can try to discredit the good guy with a gun narrative
as "that only happens in movies"
