Kind of like an equation, for ultra patriotists to ponder, I am not a communist nor "other" so you can label me an anti-anti-communist, does that make me a communist. One of those type of equations, no definite awnser.

The person who knows something is no match for the person who likes it.
And the person who likes that thing is no match for the person who enjoys of!

Well, I would have to describe myself as being anti-communist, anti-fascist, anti-monarchist, anti-theocrat, and anti-statist in general. That makes me some sort of vaguely conservative libertarian.

Being against one thing doesn't necessarily make you for another thing. If I was anti-dog, it wouldn't necessarily mean that I was pro-cat (in fact, though, I am). Also, It is entirely possible for one to be ultra-nationalist and communist at the same time, as evidenced by Pol Pot and his buddies.

Ultra patriotistis I cannot clearly define. But I would include anyone who watches television more then 3 hours a day. Also, anyone who talks about football more then 5 minutes a day, and responds to non football watchers as non patriotic. If you need more I can tell you. But that should draw a very clear line between me and ultra nationalists.

****But I would include anyone who watches television more then 3 hours a day***

eh?

***Also, anyone who talks about football more then 5 minutes a day***

So let me get this right. If you talk about footbal you are considered a ultra patriot?..and if you don't then you aren't?...i'm not following your logic

****If you need more I can tell you. But that should draw a very clear line between me and ultra nationalists. ****

no..all this tells me is ah..well..i'm really not sure what you mean what do you base this on? Ultra Patriotism to me is what people who aren't patriots cal those that are...a form of envy i believe. But i could be wrong

Some people consider that non football watchers are non patrotic. Do you?
And a patriot can be someone who believes in their country's people, not the country's government. The difference between nazi's and germans. Correct?
An ultra patriotist might say, the only way to solve this problem with other countries terrorism is to take them over one by one at any cost to human life. That would be pro goverment but anti people. If you follow this equation you can see that I am not ultra patriotist but am patriotic, I can be patrotic of all countries at the same time. There fore I believe in each countries people to provide peaceful solutions, instead of ultra nationalist warfare. I really do envy ignorance though. Which ultra nationalism is to me. Ignorance is Bliss

Patriot-One who loves, supports, and defends one's country
Patriot-One who loves his country, and zealously supports its authority and interests
A patriot in Nazi-Germany pretty much had to support the nazis cause they were part of the country which they loved. This is why patritism everywere is a joke in my opinion cause i don't see how anyone can love and support any government from the US to Australia.

****A patriot in Nazi-Germany pretty much had to support the nazis cause they were part of the country which they loved****

Not the same thing...sorry...at least not that of an american patriot. American patriots believe in defending a country that is run by the bill of rights and the constitution of the United states. Unfortunatly those in charge have fucked up the ability to defend the country and keep to the morals that a true american patriot feels and lives. The word patriot has been bastardized by those socialist liberals and spineless republicrates. A patriot for any rightful cause is a respectful thing even if the government (at least in the US) is being run by dumbfucks that are trying to destroy it.

A patriot is not a person who defends the government rather one who loves his or her country and supports its authority and interests.

***A patriot in Nazi-Germany pretty much had to support the nazis cause they were part of the country which they loved. ***

They were against human rights...in complete contradiction to the American Patriot

****This is why patritism everywere is a joke in my opinion cause i don't see how anyone can love and support any government from the US to Australia.****

Spoken like a true hypocrite...i bet you benefit in some way or another from whatever country you live in...some higher plane you live on...i'll stay where i'm at, the view is a lot better

Have a nice day,

Libertarian Patriot

You can't generalize the american patriot cause everyone is differnt. Also many people in germany hated there government and the shame it brought to the country, much like some today in the US. I don't hate America, but this country is built on broken treaties, lies, and murder. I don't care if you bielive in human rights or not, but chances are a tribe once lived around were there house is today, and chances are that tribe died so your "people" could live here. We live in place just as brutal as Nazi Germany, only 300 years later. A hypocrate is someone that cares about human rights, but doesn't give a shit about people from the Middle East, or even the Taliban cause the news say they are evil. You my friend are the fucking hypocrate. Also me benefiting from my government doesn't mean shit when for every 1 time i've benefited, 100 times i get dicked over cause of them.

eh? Your not making sense. I wasn't Generalizing, in fact i was being specific...ie: AMERICAN patriot.

*****Also many people in germany hated there government and the shame it brought to the country,****

Yet again no sense. The shame came after the war...

***I don't hate America, but this country is built on broken treaties, lies, and murder***

True..name a country that wasn't founded this way

***We live in place just as brutal as Nazi Germany, only 300 years later. ****

Well aren't you the bright one. Seeek help

****A hypocrate is someone that cares about human rights, but doesn't give a shit about people from the Middle East, or even the Taliban cause the news say they are evil.****

Is that just palastinians or are jews allowed to live?

I don't watch sports, except for those weird 'strongest man' competitions and anything with cute chicks in it. The Daily Show and documentaries make up most of my tv viewing, when I have time.

I'm patriotic because I enjoy living in a deomocratic, constitutional republic. I like being able to express any opinion I want and not have to worry about official sanction. It's not a knee-jerk reaction. There are US policies that I am completely opposed to, but overall we have the best system going. Not even fellow democracieds like Britain and Canada have the same level of freedoms we do, and they are far ahead of their next-nearest rival.

Automatic, knee-jerk support of anything is dumb, yes. So is automatic, knee-jerk opposition.

Your stupid and your arguements are about as specific as a politicians. You try to justify our country being shit by saying all other countries are shit. I'm not talking about other countries. You probally get most of your information from the 11 o'clock news. The arguements i have with you sound almost exactly like arguements with people that think our government is good (morons). You are a fucking sheep, go write a book about how you love your country.

I get my information from continuous research and also from years of world travel. I read compulsively from as wide a variety of sources as possible. I am hardly stupid.

I also can make an argument without resorting to ad hominem attacks, and am capable of properly spelling words such as "you're" and "probably."

I hope you thoroughly enjoy your sense of self-righteous indignation while it lasts. If you are lucky, you'll be able to give up your demagoguery before you end up a bitter, bitter person.

As for being specific, the US affords it's citizens more individual freedoms than any civilization in history. I like that in a country.

Secular democracy = a good thing

I wasn't talking to you jackass. All the same, I am a shitty speller, but we are not talking about spelling. I typed that in probally like 40 seconds and didn't really feel that i needed to backtrack and correct myself on a messageboard. Also, what does my spelling have to do with why i think this country is a shithole? As for your opinions, thats nice that you think that way I wish i was easily fooled and corn shwaggled into being a sheep as well. I also do not deny that we have many rights, but our government is far from perfect and totally dicks us over. If we all just except this country as it is it will only get worse, the monster has started since the 1940's and will keep getting more and more powerful and I don't understand why people do not see this. Our government has hidden agendas with every descion they make, they take bribes right in front of our faces to get campagin money, and god only knows what they do behind our backs. The reason why our country got so fucked up in the first place is cause people like you just take it in the ass, smile and reply,"I'm comfortable, I'm happy with my life, so what if they fuck us" Our government has way too much power and they need to be stopped. Also America isn't a secular democracy, look at the republican party, look at a dollar bill "In god we trust", shit it isn't even a democracy we live in a republic. Go circle the world again, next time open your eyes to their culture instead of staying at the holiday inn and watching American television.

That's funny I was thinking the same thing. You haven't contributed one thing to this thread but insults, be it the insult make you look pretty pathetic, but off topic nonetheless.

****but our government is far from perfect ****

Maybe you should move to Utopia...I heard they're hiring shoeshine boys

Yeah your idea of bitching and complaining with no ideas is sooooo progressive

Your reply was posted to me, so of course I assumed you were talking to me. Learn to use to software, please. Try clicking on the FAQ button up at the top of your screen. If you were addressing Invertigo, then you should have replied to him instead.

1. The 'in god we trust' printed on the bill doesn't trump the first amendment. Please choose a better subject to get self-righteous about. I'm an agnostic and I don't fall for that kind of crap.

2. I mostly stayed in huts and hovels while doing relief work. Not much television period, but Filipino tv is kind of a hoot.

3. I'm not complacent. I just happen to oppose trendy nihilists and marxists who need to make themselves feel important. Governments will all try to fuck you, sure. I wouldn't be a very good libertarian if I didn't believe that. The entire purpose of the constitution is to limit governmental power.

4. We do live in a democratic, representative, constitutional republic. Democracy itself is not a form of government, unless you count the theoretical model of holding a mass vote for every decision.

5. You need a tinfoil hat. Fast.

Direct democracy, ain't it a great idea. Also, I am young and do plan on joining a militia. And if that doesn't happen I'll prolly just move to a remote area in Australia and govern myself.
