They're evil that in a sense after eating them you can never go back to being a robot for the game. But most look at that as a good thing.

I would also consider that a good thing.

To the extent that evil is that which causes personal suffering, I have definitly experienced the evil side of shrooms. Just a few days ago I did the shroom-tea thing and it hit me pretty hard. I was in my bed for a while experiencing just raw, emotional shittiness. It did go away pretty quickly though and the rest of my trip was fabulous. I experience this negative aspect as kind of a cleansing. A friend of mine told me that when he shrooms, it is like this difficult, torturous journey, but you eventually figure out your way (hopefully) and you are a better person for it in the end.

The evil is within you my friend. The mushrooms themselves are certainly not evil.

Psilocybin and other psychedelics releases the brain from its normal routine thinking patterns. It is up to you, where you want to go. The only perceived evil I can see people having is if they have bad trips or deep thinking after using them, and then blaming it on the mushrooms. I find them to be healthy, both physically and mentally.

Just as a follow up, I experience shrooms (and to a lesser extent weed) as an awesome tool to make you painfully aware of some of the things (patterns, specific events) that are bothering you in your current situation- things that are normally non-conscious. Awareness of these things seems to induce the "evil side of shrooms." Finding some sort of solution to these difficulties, or becoming at peace with the way things are, is what brings me out of the negative emotional crappiness.

When a chemical alters your perception, you are in essence, under the control of that chemical. You become a tool.
This doesn't make the chemical itself evil, of course. It's just how the world works. Everyone is a tool for something or someone else. It's always nice to choose who you work for though, instead of being a slave. When I choose to ingest a psychedelic chemical, I am choosing to become under the control of that chemical.

You certainly do not become a tool due to mushrooms. Mushrooms are a tool themselves. You can use them to release yourself from the shackles of society. YOu can even go a step further and release your mind from the shackles of your body. If true freedom is evil, pleace proceed back to your pawn position in the game of economy.

Yeah, I think the mind has amazing control over the trip. Subconscious included. It is not a tool controlling you, but a tool that you make use of to show you things. It depends how you use it.

I always think of the psilocybin landscape as the realm of The Beast. And my eyes grow wide and insane and I giggle gleefully to myself while rubbing my fingers in an insidious gesture, knowing that this is the realm of empowerment and reveling in the fact that The Beast that is feared and revered so excessively is only evil according to one's perspective.... I like consulting with The Beast every few months or so. We discuss matters of great importance while sipping blood red wine and nibbling wafers on the patio out back. We chuckle and review documents and sometimes the subject of his role in organized religion comes up and he nods his head and laughs and says, "Yeah, I get a bad rep from that lot, but you know... What can you do?" And we have a good laugh over that and then go back to nibbling our wafers and sipping our wine.... Mwa ha hahaha!!

So I shared a handfull of tiny aborts with my GF last night after going into it with the mindset of "if mushrooms can be evil, then let's see it...".
aborts = k3y to understanding mushrooms.
She said that she didn't feel like herself, and a bunch of other stuff, and I attempted to explain how she was just "experiencing the life of the mushrooms which she ate". Since they were aborts, one would get the feeling that their mother had deserted them, stopped feeding them, and left them to die. I tried to explain how it was JUST the mushrooms feeling this, and that she was still herself and that............................................................
I then realized that her mother had done the same thing to her.
welcome to the dark side.

Yeah, making love and rape; donating to charity and robbing at gunpoint are part of the same continuum..
