Do you ever think that perhaps you are resisting God by trying to program yourself not to believe in God?

One thing to keep in mind is the demons believe in God and tremble at his word. So belief in God is not the issue.

No I seriously and logically do not believe in god. I used to out of fear of going to hell but if you take that out of the equation the stuff you believe in, IMO, is seriously ridiculous and downright damaging to the self.

The same God is depicted in the Old and New Testaments. Before Jesus we see judgment being brought down sometimes immediately. However, don't assume that the delay God allows some is any indicator of Him hating sin less or being different in character. In fact Jesus said it will be better for those who were destroyed in Sodom and Gomorrah on judgment day than those who scoff at the gospel.

The Law and the bondage that it brings a man under serves to drive a man to Christ. The Law is a strict schoolmaster and it served its purpose. There is a new covenant. A better covenant of glory. In all ways the stakes have been raised. Rejecting God's grace is a higher crime than I can fathom.

I am not the best at conveying exactly what I am trying to say, and perhaps some scripture would help clarify things, but I will try to answer questions and objections to the best of my ability.

If you read the gospels depicting the ministry of Jesus there are demons repeatedly dealt with. So they are biblical.

I have actually had first hand experience with demons, and part of the reason I came to Christ is because I saw the power He had over them. I was suicidal and tormented immensely but when I cried out to Jesus what I believe were demons fled. As soon as I began to consider Jesus they fought their hardest. I was bombarded in my mind with God hating murderous thoughts. After being saved I woke up on 3 occasions at night and consumed by fear and confusion I could barely cry out to Jesus in my mind and each time my body jolted and peace returned. I don't know exactly what happened, but Jesus set me free and I clung to him. I could share more, and it is interesting, but my mind has been healed immensely in the past 2 and a half years that is hard to recall what was going through my mind. Very dark things that hate the light of Christ which I believe were demons.

Yes it is true, God is to be feared. He is incomprehensible and towers above us in perfect holiness. We are nothing compared to God and to not fear the one who has you in the palm of his hand so to speak is not living in reality.

The unregenerate do not understand why someone would need grace in the first place.  They do not see themselves as that bad, certainly not bad enough to merit damnation.  Only those who are convinced by the Holy Spirit will see why they need grace.  The faith itself is a gift.  Faith doesn't merit salvation, it is the gift of God.

Speak for yourself. I don't fear god anymore. It took me years and years but I don't. I don't even believe he exists. I've been around literally hundreds of folk like you and it ain't pretty. The fear levels are really sad. It's such a shame. I'm sorry but there's nothing I can do but leave it.

Fear of what?  The saved are forgiven eternally, and adopted.  Only the unsaved have reason to fear, but they don't fear, since they see the whole thing as nonsense.

You are right. First we must see ourselves as dead in trespasses against God before grace is sweet to the soul.

But when I was first saved I really lacked an understanding of grace. I was into a sort of legalism perhaps. I still desire deeper communion with God to learn of His grace. I speak of grace because it is the good news Jesus proclaimed. I'll let God deal with men and their sin and bring them to a place where grace raises them from the dead.
