The unknown
    #8114664 -

I would like to hear some thoughts and insights on the unknown.

By the "unknown" I mean, the purpose of life. The afterlife. The extents of space and possible other beings.

Do you think that the unknown is meant to stay that way? After death if the soul were to carry on, does it acquire knowledge of all?

Is it our purpose to wonder all our life fruitlessly?

I believe there is no such thing as I. I feel that we already know everything, we just don't realize it. There is no purpose of life, life just is. I don't know what happens after death. Well, not that I know anything else either, it just seems most feasible based on my experiences.

I in some ways kinda view life like a video game. I'm controlling the main character, but behind the scenes I'm not controlling the 'character' I'm controlling the entire world. If I move the character up, it appears he's going up, but what's actually happening is the whole world moves down.

I feel that I'm the only one that exists, everyone else is just my perceptions. That's not to say that I'm better or greater than anyone else, it'd be more close to say that I am everyone else. I think that before I existed there was nothing, and after I die there will be nothing, so asking what's after death is irrelevant. I don't literally mean 'nothing' you could just as easily replace 'nothing' with 'everything' and it'd have the same meaning. That's the best I can describe my thoughts. Alot of it could be metaphorically, or literal, I really see no difference.

The unknown will always exist otherwise we'd stop having a word for it. And I doubt this would happen, though I don't really know.
But this doesn't mean that the unknown will always remain the same. We will probably keep on finding out new things, shed more light into the dark, and automatically we will keep on discovering new depths for the unknown.
It's all good, I like it this way. :yesnod:

All this time I've loved you
And never known your face
All this time I've missed you
And searched this human race
Here is true peace
Here my heart knows calm
Safe in your soul
Bathed in your sighs

^^^ My thoughts too

Welcome evermore to gods and men is the self-helping man.  For him all doors are flung wide: him all tongues greet, all honors crown, all eyes follow with desire.  Our love goes out to him and embraces him, because he did not need it.

I agree.

Knowing implies concept, the very concept of "unknown" & wanting to know all, keeps you away from knowing all, the all knowing knows nothing as it is all, there no "thing" separate to know.
