Big crybaby.  Kennedy Center finances fell off a cliff after Trump installed himself as chairman of the board and added his name to the building.

God damn.. what a baby

Someone that petty and stupid would never have made it anywhere in life, if daddy didn't bankroll him

Imagine worshipping someone like that, like lowbrow does :laugh2:

It’s gonna be funny to see the afterglow of the Trump hysteria among his base.

12 years of buying in only to get nothing in return.

How many of these people are just gonna fall in line behind Peter Thiel’s blood boy, JD Vance?

What a fucking embarrassment.

Yea, I don't have much hope for some bright future of enlightenment with these people, but it will be fascinating to watch what they do after trump dies.

Will the curse lift and suddenly they admit they were duped? Probably not.
Will they tear each other apart as a series of imposters try and fail to recreate the magic? We'll see.

What will they even run on? "I sucked up to trump the most so vote for me" "Everything is terrible but trump is the most amazing president ever so I'll do what he did even harder but Ill never be as good as him because he is the best"
It's tough to run in an election for new cult leader.

I just hope some of em get real weird with it, sell bits of his hair, vials of blood, make pilgrimages to his golf courses, fuckin lean in and really show the faith.

That's not the problem. The problem is that he sits at that incredibly uncomfortable intersection between neither being able to sell the man of the people salt of the earth thing nor the KICKING ASS TAKING NAMES WHEELING AND DEALING COOL GUY MANLY MAN thing. His soulless consultant bullshit background is gonna be as much of a demotivating factor for the people who'd elect him because he's gay as the drug record of Kamala was for the people who were meant to elect her because she was a Desi-Jamaican Mischling.

I dont think it matters if he's gay, the same way Hillary Clinton is a woman, or Kamala Harris a black woman, they're all corporate shills with Hillary and Harris just a level above the shillery of Buttigieg.

If they were good communicators and just generally likeable as a politician and upfront and honest theyd probably do well.

If they stood for anything!!!

Hillary and Kamala dont take the gloves off.

And buttigieg.. I havent seem him really do it in any consistent way across the board. Modern politics from the left ddemands fighters because thats all the republicans do, and gloves on is a losing bet.

For clarification I wasn’t trying to say that his sexual orientation would be the absolute deciding factor for a large number of voters.  If he ends up being the democrat nominee in 2028 the majority of voters in the general will either vote for or against him simply because he has a “D” next to his name.  I just wondered to what extent that could be a factor for the small slice of the population who are truly swing voters.  In retrospect, probably little to none as you and several others pointed out.  This article summarizing potential matchups in the 2028 general seems to support that:

I also agree that he comes across as somewhat “ho-hum” in our current political climate which rewards candidates who are perceived as fighters who sling profanity and insults on a regular basis.

Schadenfreude is the only thing Trump has delivered his followers to any noteworthy degree. Their bar is low however, so this will suffice to wet a tongue for the boot.

By fighters i mean people who reframe biased questions and stay on point and call out voting records and harmful policies.

People like Mamdani, and El Sayed.

I think there's a lack of any discussion that could become tense or confrontational in corporate democrats like schumer and jeffries, they go with whatever framing a question has rather than framing it themselves, but they'd have to believe in something to be able to frame their own views.

I think were seeing substantive fighters who stand for something and stay on pooint about it in discussions and debates.

Republican fighters seem to keep hitting the same points regardless of whether theyre substantive, like calling el sayed a terrorist. And honing on about it.

Its like what el sayed said, if they go low, well take them to the mud and choke them out.
