It will still cost more for the US to make stuff in the US.

You can't get away from the fact that chinese workers are paid poorly and most of the raw materials are there already. if you have to ship everything to the US and then you pay US workers a reasonable wage, it will cost more than if it were made in China. Even if its $50 more per unit more, its stil significant

true that in time, the US could rebuild its manufacturing capabilities but wages are a big factor in establishing value on the product. You would probably need a regime of protectionism in order to keep this viable.

No, because a foreign corporation engaged in a US trade or business is taxed at regular US corporate tax rates on income from US sources.  Additionally, many Chinese goods are subject to import duties (which may go away if we implement TPP).

So no, taxation is not a factor.  Once again, how can Trump manufacture things cheaper in the US, if not by eliminating decent working conditions or wages?

It's called tariffs, the US doesn't have to "manufacture things cheaper" than China, just cheaper after a 35-40% tariff!!
