x7x+ pinning on a BRF puck, quite the specimen for such a small substrate!

That's quite the plin!

This tall boi mutant in a shoebox of regular x7x was the "P" (parental generation, F0) that the x7x+ line came from.

The tub next to it was Penis Envy, as you can see.

Does anyone know if it's possible for shrooms to share genetics just being close like that? I know flowers can but that's a whole different method of reproduction. All the x7x+ I grew were consistently stronger than x7x was. Have you eaten any yet?

Be extremely careful going above 20.  I personally wouldn't.

What made it x7x+?

It's possible if you take spore prints that there will be cross contamination.

The humble beginnings of what will hopefully be a great success... terrible pics, but you can kinda see some threadies on the sides of the mini rounds. The rest looks a bit fluffy from outside, but with some luck, I will be cleaning these sooner than later.

Thanks to all the forum members and all the great write-ups - you helped me ditch the fear of agar work! And I'm definitely getting some proper dishes I can see through for the next round.

Another example of why rhizo or tomentose growth doesn’t matter, and how easy it is to manipulate a culture.

Plate cooled at an angle, the rhizo growth is over the thin side. This happens almost every time I use uneven plates.

Very interesting... my minis are DEFINITELY uneven, and the rhizo growth is definitely on the thinner bits (like the walls of the container ). Thank you for this info, I will put this into the note pile!

Country Cock Monokaryon x Lucid gates Dikaryon
by mixing shredded coir cakes and casing with cactus soil/verm/lime
I think it's safe to say that the lucid gates got a genetic input :omgawesome:

went for this cuz the Country Cock ziplock bag was doing nothing for weeks and I had a suspicion it could be a monokaryon

Didn't improve the lucid gates at all tho
But it's a brilliant new toy: once you have a mono every mon-di cross works: g2g, cake2cake... the only difficult part is pulling a mono culture, got lucky
