I don't know we had one hour of light rain walked outside kicked up dust and it followed with straight sunshine...i got something to eat and took a shower and now thunder is booming and its been solid rain for almost 30 minutes now

Yeah, shroom conditions are ripe, extreme humidity. Found a promising spot earlier. Boxelder in the rip zone, spongy sandy ground, nettles, but nare a shroom to be found.

I'm in the "HAZARDOUS AREA" location according to that map.  The current radar looks like we might get some rain + we are under a "FLASH FLOOD WATCH" 8PM-10AM.  So we'll have to see.

Should I bother searching floodplains even when there are no boxelders present? I figure I should, but it seems like people are starting to have a lot of luck when focusing on boxelders specifically

Are there any flood plains without box elders anywhere in the mid Atlantic? It is the most common tree in this area by numbers (tulip trees have a greater leaf volume)

Well finally found a small stash.  They were all buried up in veg.  The ovoids are really good this year though.  I ate 2 medium sized ones one day last week and was totally fucked all day long :grin:

flood plains 100 yards to right next to stream ,look for stinging nettles and right along trails around fallen trees.

Damn koods that is beautiful.

Got out again for a bit yesterday to check a spot Alchemycologist and I found late last season. Not as productive as Friday but still a nice little haul and found three nice clumps of Polyporus umbellatus. Definitely need to spend a bit more time exploring the area.
