I am in a minority on the shroomery, as I frequently defend the opposing side when they have a point about something or when my side make believes something about them.  I also attack my side if I think they're wrong.  People here get very confused by that and think it means I prefer the other side.

So without a sexual education class, these 15-17 year olds don't know about contraception?  Sounds like a bunch of retard people. :shrug:  Who needs a class for that basic concept?

Without sex ed kids will be ignorant when dealing with not only sex and their bodies in general but about the risk and spread of std's/unwanted pregnancies or how to deal with them. These are things that abstinence and parental/societal education have failed at.

well, when youre making policy on a national scale, you kind of have to assume people don't know. Otherwise the problem wouldnt be there in the first place.:shrug:

Not everyone is so gifted as you are with your impeccable knowledge about contraception.

Are you joking?  Kids today have the internet and the older kids explaining everything to them at a very early age, almost too young in some circumstances.

Today's kids are about 3 years ahead of the kids when I was growing up and we knew plenty.  If they know how to fuck, they know how to NOT get pregnant.

Getting blowjobs or wearing condoms isn't "impeccable knowledge",  it's basic commonsense.  Kids don't wear condoms for the same reason adults don't, "it doesn't feel as good", they all know the risks.

No I'm not joking. Society at large is not responsible for and does a terrible job at sexual education. I think a classroom setting where kids can hear textbook explanations that are science based and non-judgmental is a huge part of the process you're dismissing. Do you think rap music and recess is the appropriate place to learn about sex?

Lol if you were a parent( i fucking hope you arent), i would hope you wouldnt leave it to the teachings of the internet or older kids to educate your kids on sex. Because not everything older kids and the internet is true btw.

All kids are at different levels. Knowing how to stick your dick in something doesnt mean all the other information that comes with sex ed is learned. What a crazy assumption!

All this aside, you seemed to concede defeat on the original topics by not coming back with anything more. We now have a sex ed debate. Will you accept you were wrong about some of your assumptions? do you accept that over 400 years of prolific racism creates cycles of assumptions, prejudice and violence? That racism perpetuates racism? Or would you rather accept that your comments about sex ed were wrong after having been shown evidence to support the point?

Or are you going to move this discussion onto another irrelevant topic?

I understand that you think kids should know this stuff without being formally educated.  But I'm the type of person who relies on empirical evidence to see if what we think matches reality, and in this case it clearly doesn't.  Again, the FACT is that kids who are given comprehensive sex education are 60% less likely to have unwanted pregnancies, whether we think that makes sense or not.  :shrug:

Currently our planet is crowded ... resources are scarce ...

Birth control is good ... access to abortion is good ... increased sex education is good ...

Anything that prevents unwanted births to people not prepared to be parents is positive. 

Bad parenting causes most of the misery on this planet.  We should not be ecouraging it.
