I certainly would not like to concoct scientific tests or create rigidity about the very relaxed circumstances, i.e. naked married people going back and forth between bathrooms and one sitting in a tub writing his journal.
Tough to imagine recreating this one in a laboratory setting!
It seems to me that the shared events/context and developed empathy between intimate individuals can create a type of "telepathy," though much more like educated guessing (intuition?) than mind-reading.
I had an eerie experience many years ago with an ex-boyfriend in which I could "hear" his thoughts when I put my hand into his bath, and stopped hearing them when I removed my hand from the water. Maybe it's the water?

Here's an interesting experience I had:
I had a strange dream one random night about a year ago. I was sitting down with one of my best friends, Ken, at a social event. Most likely a shit-show house party. So, as me and my friend Ken are sitting down just talking, a friend of ours (who happens to be another good friend's girlfriend) Marissa, walks up to us and asks us if we want to see "the nipple trick". Ken and I are like sure why not! So she does something like pull down her bra on one breast and shows us her nipple.
Now, I know what you're thinking. Why is this guy dreaming about his friends girlfriends nipple? Well, let me tell you something. Marissa is a friend of all her boytoys friends. His name is Dave and hes been one of my best men for many years. But there was no nipple trick that I have ever heard about and I had never imagined such a thing in the years of knowing this girl before the dream. I have slept with her hockey playing twin sister, and they are very different. I don't think she has anything to do with this story, since she is very introverted and awkward... but I digress...
I didn't think much about this dream. It was mostly uneventful and the only thing that I did remember was the nipple trick incident.
So check it out, Dave (marissas boyfriend), picks me up in his car the morning after I'd had my dream. The plan was to go buy some weed. So, while in the car I'm thinking to myself... "Holy shit! I want to tell him about my dream!" But I decided not to for obvious reasons. So we're driving talking about how long it's been since the last time we smoked weed or soemthing, when he decides to call Marissa. I'm in the car twidling my thumbs, listening to Dave talk to his girlfriend (which is always a treat, he's hilarious). Then his conversation took an interesting turn. It went something like this, "Babe... I'm sad today.. I had a dream last night that you did the nipple trick for two guys... "
True story (dead serious).
So tell me what kind of coicidence is this?
BTW, I recently mentioned the nipple trick to Dave and he was getting a little red. As in "what nipple trick?? " I have never seen Marissas nipple or seen her perform any sort of tricks. I believe Dave actualy began to question his relationship at that very moment.. thinking ot himself "How the fuck does this guy know about my girls nipple trick!". He explained to me what the nipple trick was eventually. Something to do with Marissas nipples being both an innie and an outtie.

My husband gets freaked out sometimes because I'll start singing a song out of the blue that was running through his head at that moment. I think two people that spend alot of time together do have some extra sort of subconscious communication going on. I won't give it a name because then I'll have to defend it, but I do believe it happens.
It can backfire though. He's been known to get moody and upset because of what he believes I'm thinking.

That happens to my wife and I. I think its because we both heard the song, even though we dont consciously recognize it.
