The human is basically neutral in nature...we can be what we desire to be... Love, Icelander, I believe is an abstraction that was created by man...it is not an inborn emotion like fear...it was created and I feel that it is learned emotional behavior. That is what makes it so special...it is the result of our higher nature and it's ultimate expression.

I'm not sure I know enough to decide that one. An infant has no real way to express much of its early experience. We may have had eternities of pure blissful love for all I know.

I am not sure either...I am just speculating.

A warrior is tuned to survive, and he survives in the best of all possible fashions." ― Carlos Castaneda

I think that you are referring specifically to the moderated version of love (not Love, but a diluted form of the original) which we allow ourselves to experience through connection to another human being.

The reason (IMO) we are suddenly able to recognize the flow of Love moving through us when we connect, is that we finally relax and experience that which is occurring at all times.

When experienced through the limited filter of what we will allow, or what we believe the other deserves, this love is intermingled with greed, fear, possessiveness, judgment, self-doubt, etc...etc...

In its pure (or nearly so) state, Love feels like bliss and joy.  Pure contentment, not longing for anything or anyone, just glee at being alive.  Amazing and unforgettable.

When we relax enough to remember the bliss state, all the history of famine and scarcity and fear is irrelevant.  While the terror of dying may send us running for cover, and we may become lost in our illusion of being alone in this struggle to survive, the REASON we want to live is Love.
