dont wanna turn my thread into a political thing. but i do want to adress your point.

that about moving statement was a halfjoke anyway.. however if everyone else wants to live in a right wing theocracy and i dont...if everyone wants to live in a nation where the leaders deny science then what?? watch two movies. one is called "jesus camp" its about how the biggest mega church in the country is brainwashing kids into being ultra right wing christian zealots. also places like this are popping up all over. then watch "god's next army". its about a school opened by right wing religous whackos to become a right wing ivy league school. they want to churn out an endless supply of nutso religous, creationist politicians. this college which is only a few years old already has more interns in the whit house than anywhere else. in both of these movies the right wing crazies admit their only goal is to unite, elect an all right christian govt and instill their morals and values on EVERYONE. its scary but what can anyone do to stop this?? these people cannot be reasoned with?

its an odd time that were living in

today i got some propoganda handed to me
a "remember 9/11" shirt sponsored by the United states armed forces

the direction that this country is moving is ridiculous, and i dont support it

i have learned not to hate the sountry as a whole, but the corruption of minds and thoughts and the political processes which used to allow us our freedoms.

You guys are so quick to be jaded.

Okay so are you saying the military shouldn't hand out remember 9/11 shirts? Or that we should forget it?

You know, no matter if the regime right now was run by a pot smoking hippie, the government would be handing out remember 9/11 shirts. Because it's important to remember. Because whether or not our country's government had a chance to stop it and didn't, fact of the matter is the act itself was a grand statement of hatred.

Just curious, do you live your life under the concept that movies are real life?

That much I can agree with but let's not move too far away from the original argument, which was me calling KOTT a bad American for saying if another Bush-like president were elected, he'd high-tail it out of here. Sure, it might've been a joke...but you probably also meant a good deal. (Not you, blink, KoTT). I'm down with the expatriate thing, don't get me wrong, it usually births great art - Hemingway, the greatest expat writer of them all.

But me, I'd rather stay here and watch how things unfold and play out my part however small it is. I believe in what this country's about, and I'm not gonna let some nutjobs scare me out of it. Just liek I won't let terrorists scare me from walking the streets of my city even though they slammed airliners into it.

they are documentaries, one done by a filmaker and the other by the BBC. you can freely check out any of the facts. the college is called PAtrick Henry College.. you can also easily look up the jesus camp info too. the religous right is planning a take over in this country. they freely admit they want to brainwash kids like the muslims do.

i wont live under the thumb of a religous goverment, sorry. i do my part, not only have i voted in every election i could since age 18, i volunteered for kerry.

i also want to say i read quite a bit too so im not just relying on two movies for my info. shit just read right wing msg boards, i lurk sometimes. they want this country changed. they want abortion gone, gays gone, porn gone, drugs gone, anti christian speech gone. they contend this country should be a christian nation. its funny i saw a clip on some political site of a muslim babbling about what he wants his country to be like, bashing the west for various reasons. then the interspliced it with clips of some southern preacher talking on the same topic. they sound the fucking same. people want this country to become Iran but with christian leaders instead of muslims.

there are 80 million people i believe in the evangelical movement, all organized and galvanized to make this a reallity. all i can do is vote. if it doesnt work then what is my other choice??? violent revolt?? end up dead?? or just go somewhere people think like me and want to live like me. shit not just canada, europe as well. progressive places, places that embrace science and new thought, people who are trying to move forward. not jerkoffs readin some fiction book and believing in magic. i want to live in a place where they have no problem sucking the stem cells out of a fetus to cure my ailments

the military shouldn't be recruiting for a war in Iraq using the memory of something unrelated.

Ding Ding! we have a winner.

althogh there is some irony in seeing the military using a false flag operation, which was carried out on their own people, to get more people to die for them.

see people need to see this stuff and realize what the right have done to themselves. theyve sold their souls to the religous right for votes. small govt libertarian types are not wanted in that party anymore.

Hyperbole will get you nowhere, my dear blink, there is a high difference between leaving a country to dodge a draft and what KOTT is talking about.
