To some... yeah. I just thoroughly enjoy making fun of the religion that my parents (tried to) raise me on and was the cause of the Crusades.

The Crusades are a big shit-stain on the face of Christianity... not to mention things in the Bible that talks about God telling them to kill people. I don't believe anything like that should be in any "holy" book

How could you forget the brainwashing? Millions of children are brainwashed into it every year.

Do you know where slavery, rape, and the sex trade are condoned in the Bible? I'm not saying they're not, because I don't know.

Neither do I. But I know, you don't have to tell me some christians are good people, I know that. Many are. I just think religion in general has been the biggest plague on planet Earth.... but Christianity/Catholicism especially is the most guilty for spreading death destruction and manipulation. What started out as a pure and simple message of love your neighbor got warped and twisted and turned into everything from Holy Wars to bans on homosexual marriage and rock albums. The Bible has been edited many, many times by the church in the past thousand years to suit their needs. And fuck any religion that preaches tolerance but tells you that you're going to burn in eternal hellfire if you don't believe what they do. And now we have Christian extremists like Ann the Cunt Coulture who says that Christians are perfected jews and that christianity is the 'fast track' to god. I can't stand behind any religion that produces so many narrow-minded bigots.

I agree. It comes from taking everything in the Bible literally, not understanding that its books were written, chosen, and translated by flawed men and not God himself. I believe God inspired parts of the Bible because I believe parts of the Bible to hold truth. But I also believe truth can be found anywhere. I don't believe necessarily all things are true, though. My parents are total fundies and when we get in discussions my dad will say shit like "You can't pick and choose what you believe from the Bible! Either you believe all of it or none of it" It's ridiculous. I consider myself an "Atypical Christian Universalist" actually.

Read the old testament. All kinds of deplorable shit going on in there.

Don't forget the implication of sodomy in the old testament . . . I believe it is in Genesis?
