I have some of that caramel popcorn mutant working also. Recovering from it's first shake.

It's snowing in the southern US!!! Pretty rare here, especially since it snowed weekend before last.

What does this have to do with cult, you ask? Well, it is my motivation right now! I need to prep more coir so I can spawn a few jars to bulk. I have transfers to make, spores to swab, even a couple of BRF pucks that will be spawned in 1qt screw-top PP5s.

But first, HOT CHOCOLATE!!! with a big ball of hash, of course!

I’m so bummed, I have jars 50%, and shoeboxes just starting to pin, just made some LC so waiting on that, Cordyceps just pinning, Enoki about colonized, and all dried fruits already powdered and capsules….. I have nothing to do but play in the snow, but the sun is out and everything is meeeelllting!!!

Hypsizygus ulmarius
This has got to be one of the stinkiest species ever. That thing is reeking up the whole kitchen. It'll die down quite a bit once it starts fruiting. Thankfully.

Psilocybe zapotecorum Barrerae
Don't mind the rusty lid and excessive use of tape.
Makes great transferable labels so it's not as wasteful as it seems.

SSLI
(Super Sticky Liquid Inoculant)
(name and idea inspired by Semi-Solid Liquid Culture)

800 ml distilled water.

0.2% agar, (1.6 grams agar.)

x7x+ plate is germination plate from Oct 19, 2024

PE is from Dec 19, 2022 (!) Both were in fridge.

Hamilton Beach Power Elite Blender (58148A).
I used the Dice / Chop / Salsa pulse setting. The rest are too powerful.

Before that I tried 2 different magnetic stirrers, neither were strong enough to shred an agar plate.

I tried two blenders, the second one (got at Salvation Army) worked. I have to hold the bottom (top) of the jar while blending. It only took a couple seconds to blend. I use pint jars. I PC the jars and the grinder top I made. I will update how it works.

The smart thing to do with these old plates would be to have taken a transfer to a new plate, but I'm out of empty plates.

This is also my first try with oats. I used Bod's oat tek (very simple).

I kind of soaked every grain of oats with SSLI, and rolled the jars to get every bit. But it should be fine, that's supposed to be fine with SSLC. I've seen wetter jars on here without adding anything like this. haha.

Like Barrerae, back from the dead. Though a lot longer. Put a lot of work in bringing both back. So far so good.

That's freaking awesome nektar! I so want to make one now.

Psilocybe thaizapoteca
Day 9. Moves faster through PF style sub than it does on grain. These are a mix of brown rice, pearl barley, rye and maybe millet. Just used what was left in the bags. Didn't have enough of any one to do anything with and didn't feel like grinding more at the time lol.

Different tray. Not quite as thick as the first.
Barrerae and Tonila aren't the only thing back from the dead.. just getting moving again after a four day bout with covid. Thus post padding session complete.
