The 'ol lightbulb heat source

Some feller is using a hanging lightbulb in his closet for heat. He doesn't have a door on his closet tho, and needs to sleep at night so he can get up for school the next day. What he did was hang a dark blanket over the doorway. He also took an apple juice can with one end of the cylinder cut out (1L) and is using that as a shade. There is about 1 inch of clearance all around the bulb. So the can has a bottom in it, and the bulb is hanging dawn inside it from the opening on the top (the only opening).

Will this get too hot and burn his house down?

EDIT: the bulb is 60W

As long as it isn't touching anything particularily flamable, I wouldn't worry.
Hope you're using one of the insulated bulb sockets, and not one where any of the contacts are touching your can.
