I just use the recommend 3 quarts for most stuff, except I usually use nutribullet cups, same thing :grin:

Also im already pacing my room for like an hour twenty waiting for my agar to cool enough to pour and it STILL feels like I'm burning my prints off, quicker is better for me personally


Ive popped mine in the fridge a few times to speed up the cooling process. Worked fine but I have an infrared temperature gun to keep an eye on the temps.

I get you altford. While the PC cooled, every now & then water would get sucked up the side & through the filter under the foil. It happened to me so often as a noob I stopped putting foil on my jars entirely :lol:

As long as steam can get into the vessel and water cant get in, I dont see there being a disadvantage. But im a noob

you don't want steam inside the vessel. heat gets inside the bottle via convection.

Edit: Just to clarify since I wasn't clear. You don't want or need steam from the outside to get inside. Steam being generated from within the vessel is happening anyway.

If air is trapped in there, it does not reach sterilization temperature. You don't need steam to get into the vessel, steam gets created by the liquid in the vessel and displaces the air.

Yeah I only do it because with the agar I use if I don’t have enough water it will partially solidify before I’m ready. I don’t do it for any other reason.

Yeah we are saying the same thing. You don't need the steam from outside to get inside to carry the heat with it. Convection will do that through the glass which will in turn heat everything up to steam inside the vessel which will in turn transmit the heat it got from the outside to the rest of the stuff inside.

Although how does that work for dry loads that don't have water to turn into steam? I guess you just cook them for longer depending on mass.

I got 4 media bottles, 400ml, gonna run it for 20 minutes at 15psi with a 10 minute vent


1. 8g LME, shook af
2. 8g LME, microwaved at 45 second intervals until almost boiled over, shook af
3. 4g LME, shook af
4. .8g LME, Shooketh as fucketh

Like last time, ill post pics as soon as they come out

Its a pain, for a long time I thought everyones was silty af, bought some plates, filtered some plates, would really love to not deal with an alien brain hemorrhage every time I pour my agar :P

Here's mine with the 45mins at a strict 15psi using the modular jiggly weight (around 14psig).

Close but no cigar. The color is right and most of the boogers will settle down once it's reheated and mixed, but still no bueno.


Cookie for anyone who can tell me what's wrong with this picture.

Here's the standard 8g shaken at 15min vent, 45 minute cycle as reference for previous boogerage


And here are 1-4(left to right) of the 15psi 10min vent, 20 minute cycle


Are you guys fucking with us or do you really not have any sediment coming out of the PC? I've seen threads where Bod and smartattack among others talk about needing to decant of they want no sediment and so on, so im wigging out :psycrankey: wtf
