I think they will pressure him to get dirt on Trump, and then Rudy will squeal like a pig. I've been saying this since the Donald first hired him, which was an incredibly stupid move.

Trump has retained a real lawyer to represent him in the lawsuit filed by two capital policemen who were injured and another one by I believe a Democratic congressman.

Maybe not criminally, and even if they do he wont serve time, but I'm optimistic on the civil cases. There is a significantly lower burden of proof and they don't require a unanimous jury. And I still think New York State and Manhattan want him bad, and they have no concern about whether it looks political.

It’s not about trump himself being too special, it’s about setting the precedent that a politician can be held liable in court for things he says in office. That precedent will absolutely not be set, nor will any sort of major investigation into his taxes or his assault allegations or his ties to Russia prove to be fruitful. Trump is already disgraced in the eyes of the public, and those in power won’t set a precedent against themselves to punish him. They like him, after all. He governed almost entirely in their interest.

I could see that, still think Rudy has a few too many skeletons that folks would rather not come to light should he face any sort of serious conviction. I think the public has largely moved on, turns out all they needed for catharsis was Biden putting a bunch of women and minorities in charge of the pentagon.

I think they have to get Trump precisely because he has not been "disgraced in the eyes of the public". Most Republicans think he won the election. Trump just hand picked a replacement for a House leadership position that they forced Liz Cheney from because she said Trump went too far. None of this is over; it's happening ever day.

Trump will get exceptional treatment because malicious prosecution is what he tried to do to his enemies, and would have if he could have got away with it. They didn't sent 7 FBI agents to raid Giuliani to let the Ukraine investigation go.

The two New York investigations can't be stopped by the federal government. Biden doesn't want it to stop. He just wants to personally appear to be above the fray.

Ok so you don’t think those Republican voters that ignored the results of the election will ignore the results of whatever prosecution or conviction trump faces? He’s lost the sliver of middle class white people that presented an electoral threat to democrats, there’s no sense in kicking the hornet’s best anymore. The folks on the left will stay mad and the folks on the right will stay mad but the center will be lulled back into complacency by the Biden administration and everything will be right in our grand land.

As far as the state investigations, of course Biden doesn’t want them stopped. The Dems called him a threat to our existence for 4 years they have to at least pretend to follow through on it. But like I said, the people they’re worried about appeasing have largely been appeased, so why expend anymore political capital in a move that only threatens your own power down the line? Not gonna happen. I’ll be surprised if they even pin Guiliani. Hell, at this point I’ll be shocked if Ghislaine Maxwell ends up getting convicted on anything.

I know this may pain our liberal friends but the capitol riot was just a bunch of q Anon morons exercising some rage. Motherfuckers stormed the Capitol and all they could think to do was take pictures with cops and trash some offices. There was never a “threat to our democracy.”

Regardless, it’s over. Trump folks don’t wanna turn the page because it’s all they got but Trump being prosecuted by liberal deep state NY state lawyers won’t change their minds. Bush committed far worse crimes than Trump and Obama didn’t do anything about that either. Like I said, nobody in power is going to set the precedent that “people in power face consequences.”
