I think mrpickles problem here is everyone got to witness with their own eyes the dumpster fire that was the presidency of Donald Trump. Nobody is buying what he’s selling, but it sure is fun to watch him try. We haven’t had a die hard trump cult member around here for months

The Trump Derangement Syndrome stuff became kind of a hard sell after the Jan 6th insurrection. Clearly the worst things some people had expected of Trump's rule were not derangement, but proved to be totally reasonable concerns.

It’s just weird that a president has a flag in the first place. Trump supporters are strange people.

There were a lot of “told you so” moments in the past four years

Ive been all over this country (Ohio, Penn., Florida, Texas, and Arizona) and the amount of support for Trump vs. Biden has been 1000-1. I have seen 1 Joe Biden bumper sticker.

I believe that the demonstrativeness of many Trump voters (with their flags, bumper stickers, hats, etc) is illustrative of an emotional investment in politics that has displaced the clear-sighted rationality  necessary to make informed choices at the ballot box.

Trump voters loved to claim that they are the silent majority. Classic projection. All the Trumpsters are still flying their flags 4 months after he lost by 7 million votes. Meanwhile, Pickles has only ever seen one Biden bumper sticker.

How long can the Republican Party espouse the view that government does nothing right, that it is worthless, that it is the enemy, before something snaps in the minds of GOP voters and they begin to act upon these imprecations? The capitol riot won’t be the end of the story, not by a long shot.

I find the election results odd and I don't even care

Why? The vast amount of people who voted. I didn't.

Idk, I don't just vote because half the country wants one person the other half another person. I'd rather get someone not affiliated with a political party or lobbyists, who will help the people

In 2028, will 270 million people vote in the election even though statistically, age wise, that's just not possible?

Just seems weird.

All elections are rigged, they only allow two people to compete, realistically, and usually the wealthy and those in power like either option, they don't care

They have to pretend to care, for their jobs, though

Dem party is center/ conservative. They also like endless wars

Also dollars to donuts, they will also, not help anyone. They have the majority everywhere and won't pass any useful legislation...much less hold something to a vote

While there’s some truth to all that, it’s still a false equivalence

The worst single event was when he ordered federal troops to clear Lafayette park with tear gas and pepper balls so he could walk across the park and take a picture in front of a church where he was not welcome.

Now we are breaking out the symbolic events, it was pretty God damned low when Trump gave a presidential dinner of Wendy's McD's and pizzas to the college football champions

I mean if someone serves McD at their wedding banquet people are like, wow, but this was a PRESIDENTIAL DINNER AT THE WHITE HOUSE. Fucking big macs and Wendy's.

The INSULT of that - and adding to that he proudly insisted he paid for it himself

Gawd daaayum!

What you said outlined one of the MAJOR differences between the left and the right.

You're right, to 99% of us, COVID isnt a big deal--- and that is the point-- Trump didnt want 100% to suffer for a virus that 99% of people would be fine from

The left believes that the 1% of life loss is worth shutting everything down.

I think your numbers are a little skewed.

You say 1% loss of life, lets make that 2, ok?

I want to hear you go on record as saying that to 99% of the right, the loss of 6 million lives is not a big deal.

You just said that over 3 million dead is no biggie, so, how about 6?

You're over halfway there.

I am not saying it isnt a big deal-- but again-- and this is the fundamentall difference between the left and the right---

Republicans we dont think that you should impose draconian restrictions on 100% of the population when its been proven that very few are actually vulnerable to fatality

Its the same with the wholes Transgender crap--- Now the other womens feelings of security and comfort dont matter because the 1% of men who want to be in a womens bathroom because it makes them comfortable--- the idea of inclusion has gotten out of control

Without the “draconian measures” the death toll would’ve been worse and the virus would have mutated into more resistant strains. People over 65 are very vulnerable

The stimulus packages would’ve been even more generous and there wouldn’t be as much economic hardship with shutdowns had the Republicans not intervened

Exactly. So the Over 55/65 population and people who are vulnerable should have been locked down and given support--- not the entire country and businesses.

Never in the history of white house dinners has even a dog gotten less than a ribeye steak or a cat less than a fresh salmon on a silver platter.

Presidential dinner, in the historic White House, it defiles the whole institute of presidency. The guy lives in a gold plated tower shitting in a gold plated toilet helping himself to billions of taxpayer money while golfing.

Every single dead president turned in his grave over that.

Its dishonorable in all directions.

The internment camps for Japanse were actually taken down, you'd have to build new ones to detain the generations that made your hubris possible in.

You didn’t learn anything during your time as a member of an underclass. Now you’ve dug yourself out of the hole you’re seeking out vulnerable populations that you can prey upon and lord power over.
