I think that this jar will be fine. Right fellas?

Just kidding! I let it go for no good reason. Need to take it far away to dump it, bleach it and then set it on fire.

hmm - I know that they'll grow with no light - or light 24-7 but was was under the impression that the ideal was a 12 on /  12 off lighting rhythm.

also anyone post video up here - I imagine that you probably can't do it directly but is there a streaming service that's more secure than a youtube type of thing?

Hey MrMushly, my avatar is a modified gif of a time lapse that I did with ir for night. I also could not find a better alternative than y-tube for the higher res version and I kind of regret the hit to security for positing that way. I would love to know if someone does know of a more secure way to post a video here.

You know, if it was a woodloving Psilocybe I would say yes to that. Those would be fine eventually.

Tydygy, dial your moisture content WAYYY back: ie dry them much better before jarring and sterilizing... these are soaked, likely bacterial,  which IMO/E, is where most other contamination starts: weakened imminal response due to underlying bacterial infection

No need to blast it with a nuclear bomb, you can use a jar still green with trichoderma spores so long as you sterilize properly

Was not expecting this kind of a jump in 24 hours, from 1'' to 3''.

Not sure what's up with this guy, keeping an eye on it.

Presumed to be bruising as the moment, no change in size for 24 hours.

Unfortunately my 1/4 pint top fruiting grains are basically abort city.
Planning to dunk and bottom water for second flush.

lol yeah it’s kinda shocking the first few grows when they hit that jump overnight. The little one you circled is a common mutation it’ll be fine. I’ve only gotten it with golden teacher but every time I’ve grown them it’s showed up.

I’m real into these melmaks. I’m expecting they’ll have a huge growth spurt overnight.

Thanks Caps. This was just a joke post. I have 54 jars that were fine. I think that the moisture got in through the SFD getting wet in the PC because of a poorly place bit of foil. I also let the oats cook an extra 5 minutes because I thought they were a bit dry on my previous run. But as you said, dryer is better. I just enjoy learning from the fails almost as much as the successes.

Here is my first Pasty Dialed in tub converted from a Bodified mono. A PE clone from my first ms run. Lost track of days from lock down, but I think this is 7 days from spawn. I will be adding a bit of Jiffy coir casing soon, probably. I can't find the 50+ anywhere so I am using this that has coir as well. It has worked great for a silly cased spawn jar that keeps producing. This is flush #5.

:peace:

Looks great! I just spawned 10 shoeboxes of melmac and will be doing another 10 in a few days. This will be my first time growing a clone and excited to see how they turn out. Here's the tissue donor for the first round of shoeboxes (middle guy in first pics):

The next round coming up will be from this guy(I hope to retain the unique cap):

I love this variety!

Over the last few days, I innoc'd 20qts with natalensis wedges. Here's one of the plates (also a clone):

Now the waiting game

I won’t be able to print these atl, if you give them better conditions they get bigger caps. This was my first run of them I’m gonna put the next ones in my pan fruiting set up and they should do much better.

These Melmak I have are crazy with the genetic variation. I ordered a swab online which grew this

I took a couple clones and somehow ended up with that picture I posted before. Now I’m super curious what the second clone produces, should pin any day.

Those caps are cool oneofus how potent were yours?

That natalensis plate looks really good too, probably cuz it’s clone. Mine are all super thick and climbing on the lid and trying to get out of the cling wrap. I did notice a pin on my germ plate today so I’m gonna be taking that for sure.

Yeah looks like you’ve got shoeboxes down.

I did the same thing and switched to underbeds a couple months ago. It’s so funny harvesting the tub after being used to shoeboxes.

The pile of shrooms had me all :uhoh:

Got 2 more almost there. Second one should be ready tomorrow. Prob day after on the first one. Got 4 after this and then switching to mostly monos. Yeah, im interested to see what I pul from a 54 qt in comparison. I kept my spawn ratio the same as I feel like thats what gives me such good flushes. Did 5 qt spawn to 7.5 q sub. Colonizing very nicely!
