I been smoking weed and drinking, so I ain't looking up shit tonight (maybe tomorrow), but think about it, would you work or own a business and take that risk for just 10% of your profit after taxation?  Not a chance in hell, nobody's that stupid.

Let's be more reasonable and ask if rich people would really stop investing their money if their profits were taxed at 30% or 40% instead if the current 15%

I'd rather have illegals than legals, it's usually the legal ones who run a muck, cuz they feel so entitled like they can do wutever they want

Just look at all the prisons, like 90% of the inmates are legal citizens

really?

so none of that would have to do with the Obama "catch and release" program since
he doesnt want to imprison the illegals that commit crimes and it probably
wouldnt have to do with the fact that some are actually deported instead of being
imprisoned in the US

there are no tax loopholes, the wealthy and the poor have the same tax code, all
that favors one above the other is that the wealthy pay higher rates than the poor

Depends what you mean on "investing"?  Buying stocks, bonds, income real estate or starting a new risky business.

The rich/investors usually just switch asset classes to adjust to the increased or decreased risk when it comes to tax rates.

What would happen if the capital gains tax went from 15% to 40% today?  It would most likely hurt the current price of stocks and real estate the most over time and I'm not even saying that's a bad outcome, a strong economy can overcome higher tax rates for those asset classes.

Many of them would slowly make their way offshore. The rich have the place by the nuts globally.

That's a point I was also going to mention, big money has no issue going into India, Vietnam, South Korea, ect.

In fact we know that "big money" hasn't really made any reinvestment back into the US economy for almost 20 YEARS now.  The model of capitalism (in developed economies) has broken down for the most part, profits are mostly hoarded or reinvested somewhere else other than the homeland.

You mericans think you should be treated differently because your a citizen lolol illegals have to do the jobs because noone else will.

I am sure you are extremely impressed with yourself and think you are an irreplaceable snowflake.

To be honest have you heard of someone not getting fired for aNO CALL NONSHOW for an entire week on 2 different jobs???? I didnt on my last job (construction worker , detail worker but my main job was taking and uploading pics for their website ) i go above and beyond on each job giving me "unspoken perks" like missing how many ever days i want without any consequences... You might think everyone is replaceable and you are right but you have to understand there are beasts out there and im one of them

If you're trying to make a case that illegals working in the US is beneficial from a economic position, you're going to fail.

Of course it is beneficial. If you want to buy a house its cheaper because of illegal labor. If you want to go out for dinner, the illegals in the kitchen are the reason it's affordable. Every American I know has a gardener, I can't afford a couple of white guys in a truck, to them it's a real job. You know if you go to Europe or Aus or Canada, pretty well anywhere else you are going to be in for some serious sticker shock at the grocery store. That's because our food is planted and maintained and harvested by legal immigrants and people born here. The idea of getting an illegal to drive the truck that delivers it is also unheard of here.
You anti immigrant people never ever complain and say you want higher prices on these things. You consider fair or living wage to be a liberal plot. So I don't care if some mexican took your job, maybe if an illegal immigrant who knows no one, and doesn't know the language came and took your job, maybe you need to look in the mirror for someone to blame.
Fuck if I could hire illegals I would start a business tomorrow. I can't afford to give people medical benefits and vacation time and bathroom breaks though.

The people that hire illegals do so to increase their profit margins, not to offer cheaper prices to consumers.  Not every business hires illegals, therefore they are forced to compete against people that break the law. The consumer is NOT benefiting from illegal labor, the rich are driving everyone's wages down by creating an excess pool of labor in the US.

It's the same with shipping manufacturing out the US (causing millions of US workers to lose their job) and then selling the product back in the US, guess who receives the benefit?  Not the consumer, the company that just expanded their profit margins from the cheaper labor.

Why do you think the US has the largest wealth and income inequality in 80 years?  It's because of globalization and cheap labor flowing into the US.  Why do you think the middle class has been flat on its back the past 20 years?  Same reason.

I'll tell you what, we can send all the illegal people up into Canada if you want, be careful what you wish for, they cost society more than they are worth.

You're a big reason of what's currently wrong in America, OP.

My poor mother paid so much money to immigration lawyers, the INS, as well as more money towards visas, work visas, and eventually so did I so we could go through all the proper channels for us to eventually become legitimate, American citizens in the early 00's. We never spent one day illegally in this country and I'm damn proud of that because it's a lot more than 99% of other immigrants can say. You taking your fucking shortcuts to work here is pretty much stealing directly from me and this country. You get it?

You don't have the right to ask why people here might not have a job (which isn't my case). You're the reason that it was so damn hard for me and my family to enjoy what this country has to offer. Of course the government doesn't trust the majority of immigrants. Because of your "technically legal" bullshit.

Fuck that! :crankey: I rarely ever get mad on these boards but this is a subject that is very close to my heart. I wouldn't feel any guilt whatsoever if someone called the INS on you and deported your ass so you'd stop stealing from MY and other Americans' pockets.

The fact is, they are a necessary labor resource. As it stands now, this country food supply depends on a reliable undocumented labor force. Crackdowns have demonstrated that American agriculture would be crippled without them.

This is a common argument.  It might even be true.  Of course we won't know unless Agribusiness starts paying at least minimum wage for the jobs that they hire migrants to do.  One thing is sure, americans are not going to pick berries for less than minimum wage.  The other problem with this, is that it assumes that migrants are too stupid to realize that they can walk across the road to Mickey D's and get a raise.  I assure you, they are not.

Dude we get it you hate wetbacks and alot might be stupid but so are you ... To work at that shit place mcdonalds you need papers the illegals cannot get a raise. No mericans will work in agriculture for minumun wage are you mad?
