Roll those eyes all you'd like..... here's what you said....

"Not really. The reason the war had to happen now and not before the UN inspectors had carried out weapons inspections was because Bush proclaimed Iraq was an "imminent and serious threat" because of WMD. "
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat...rt=all&vc=1

Now, be a man here Alpo, did he say that?

Not did a member of the administration say it, but did Bush say it?

And now, since you obviously up to now haven't been man enough to admit you were wrong, and I doubt you'll be man enough now, I'll let you try to bullshit your way through yet again.

I think you'll try to weasel your way out yet agin though, so surprise me. Be a man.

To be sure you understand the question, I'll ask again.....
Did Bush, as YOU claimed in the above referenced post, state word for word, that Iraq was an imminent threat.

If you answer yes, please provide a link.

Nope, it would take us nowhere near that long, as was shown by the speed of the war, to make sure he never used it.

Oh yeah I'm sure we would have located all their nukes in no time at all, seeing as how we're so good at finding things - Osama, Saddam, WMD...

Ok luv, we've got Bush saying he was a serious threat and Rumsfield saying he was an immediate threat.

Now can you make a point about what enormous difference this makes? Do you believe Bush didn't agree with Rumsfield?

Ah, at least the beginning of a backtrack.

Does it make any difference that Rumsfield said it rather than Bush?

When you claim it was Bush? Yes it does for the sake of accuracy.

Quote:
Does Rumsfield speak on behalf of Bush or not?

That irrelevant to the discussion at hand.

Now can you make a point instead of the usual buffoonery?

Seems I did. You were once again, full of shit.

Just think how much more honest you would have seemed had you done it several posts ago.

But, that's part of being a man.

EDIT: This shows why the "mark as edited" box is a bad idea.
Good thing I had cut and pasted it before you changed it.

Can you drop the same old boring insults you've posted a thousand times and make a point? Why does the semantics of whether Bush or a senior member of Bush's administration said it make that much difference?

Do you believe Bush didn't view Iraq as an immediate threat and that Rumsfield wasn't speaking on behalf of the administration?

Make a point for once.

Can you stop being "disingenuous"? (the quote marks are deliberate by the way, no flame rule and all that)

Would you like to have statements you never made attributed to you? When people here make a claim that Bush said something and he didn't, that needs to be corrected even if you don't like being wrong. It was factually incorrect.

Irrelevant. I was addressing YOUR claim, not either one of those men.

The Bush administration as a whole purposefully portrayed Iraq as an imminent threat. If a reporter had straight out said to George "do you consider Iraq to be an imminent threat?" after pausing to work out what imminent meant he would have answered yes.

Now, are you luvvie duvvie, or are any of the evil little warmongers who make up that joke you have the gall to call a "government" man enough to admit that they were lying through their teeth?

No.

You are simply left to quibble like a child over nuances of meaning, so you dont have to confront the larger issue, that you were duped by a bunch of charlatans fronted by an illiterate fool who probabaly has a lower IQ than most people who serve you your big macs do.

Saying the administration portrayed, as opposed to claimed, are not the same.

My understanding is, your government is in the midst or end or an inquiry, that has shown the answer to be no.

Or do you have info I'm not aware of? Any smoking guns?

I didn't realize proving Alpo wrong yet again would upset you so. Aren't there other more pressing issues for you to get worked up over?

almost everyone agrees that the Bush administration portrayed Iraq as an imminent threat, which is what's important here, not who said exactly what. luv only seems to be concerned with irrelevent details, where he could claim his little victories because it's obviously very important to him.

Facts don't matter to you? Or is that just when libbies have been shown to be wrong?

Keep in mind, YOU asked for the proof.

I can't be held responsible if you didn't like the answer.

This "proving me wrong" really means a lot to you luv. You've havn't provided the slightest useful point for the last 5 pages and have yet to prove anything. Merely a ludicrous theory that Bush isn't responsible for what his most senior member of his administration says.

If you really want to see being proved wrong in action, take a look at this recent exchange:

Quote:
Luvvie duvvie posted: Let's see... could the title mean the official finding of the probe was that the doc wasn't fudged, but the last line indicates that some felt it could have been?

The only amusing thing is that you were unable to realize that on your own. Or have you never heard of a majority / minority view?

Really Alpo.

Quote:
Alex123 posted: No, it couldn't possibly mean that because the official probe is nowhere near finished and has made no official findings.

Now THAT's proving someone wrong

Again Alex, Rumsfeld said 'more immediate' as in more than other countries like Iran, or Syria. It was the justification for Iraq being next on the list.

"No terrorist state poses a greater and more immediate threat to the security of our people and the stability of the world than the regime of Saddam Hussein in Iraq," Mr Rumsfeld said.

Not sure what your point is shak. Is Rumsfield portraying Iraq as an immediate threat or not?

I'm not holding you responsible for anything. I just don't care for your personal crusades. why is it so important to you to claim this little victory of yours. is this your only joy in life? can't you see that you've completely missed the point? The case was made to the American People that Saddam Hussein and his WMD posed an imminent threat to the United States. so I don't think it's entirely inaccurate to say that Bush claimed that Iraq was an imminent threat, though he might have never used that exact term. shit man, every fucking newspaper in the country said that Bush claimed that Iraq was an imminent threat. even a lot of congressman said it. most conservatives bought it. it's pretty obvious to anyone paying attention that the Bush administration did indeed make that claim.
