i have never done it, besides sleeping or tripping. i tried for like a week, then i was like fuck it....if it happens it happens....i can lucid dream anyway

Yes, I freely admit it. I have used Kenner's Give-a-Show Projector and Super 8mm for years. But then again, I'm from the old skool.

The Robert Monroe Institute also does some good research into astral projection, such as the Hemi-Sync audio sounds...
You can find more information here.

Also, This can give you a good idea of what it's like to travel in the astral world. Flight is a common theme in many astral experiences.

Do DXM experiences count? Closing my eyes with music on and imagining my body-feeling 'pushing off' of my feet usually launches me off shortly. It feels much like a roller coaster. This may or not be the same as the "OBE" which I get from dex. Imagination becomes a stronger input source than reality is (darkness helps), so I can look through my third eye (visualization intensified to the point of another eye in another world) and feel like I'm there, not in bed.

Speaking of the Monroe Institute.....

For a few years I was really interested in psychoacoustics (I'm such a dork sometimes :smile:

)

Anyway, I purchased one of the only books out there really dedicated to psychoacoustics, took about 4 weeks to get!

I get the book, read a chapter, set the book down and come home to find out my 6 month old puppy chewed it up. Out of all of my books he had to chew on the most expensive!

Definitely go to SpiritWeb.com, there use to be a website called www.SonicArc.com that had TONS of cool stuff, free downloads, great info. I don't think its up anymore though

Sorry to inform you skeptics, but astral projection is very real. Depending on what you define as real, of course.

I define real as something my senses pick up. A lot of times reality can be questioned or confusing, and astral projection is something I consider real.

It starts for me as sleep paralysis. This is where you cannot move your body. Then I hear these wooshing sounds, and feel an intense energy around my body.

Within seconds, im launched from my body.

Astral projections happen to MANY people.

Astral projection just so happens to be an infinite warehouse of knowledge that would otherwise be unobtainable. Only catch is, you have to believe in the possibility and expect it to work. We all visit the astral plane every night, whether or not we make use of it is up to the individual. Those who do learn astral projection (and it does take practice , a defeatists attitude will not cut the mustard) are "afforded the opportunity to reach new levels of awareness and perfect their souls" as quoted by Dr. Bruce Goldberg in Astral Voyages.

So sit back and mark it off as some sort of mochery while I and many others explore the universe outside of this "reality".
