auweia, have u considered using the shroomery to upload ur pics to? or possibly using photobucket?

everytime i view ur pics im bombarded with popups and spam

imageshack is teh stink

I couldn't agree more. I notice certain people only use imageshack, which is horrible for me. It may run ok on other setups, but it messes this computer up. I refuse to click on anymore of them. Sometimes it crashes my browser, freezes things up, makes things move ultra slow for like 3 mins, and the pop-ups :badcomputer:

Nice photos. I recognize the Agaricus and Psathyrella right away. The red one looks familiar too. What color were the gills though? None are active if you were even wondering.

yeah, I only use Imageshack cause they got the Firfox plug in for mass uploads..I don't get pop ups on Firefox and Shroomery only lets me do a couple photos...I'll try something else

I think there should be more upload space for the hunting forum regulars. What are your default limits set at?

Mine looks like this.

Yeah, I saw something similar....Actually, mine says 256kb..What I use is Dreamweaver Fireworks to batch process photos from 5mp...at 80% most are about 1mb...I like to max out the size to get more detail...512kb is about half that...I'm trying photo bucket right now, they have a mass uploader..usually I can get more than 6 photos. I suppose it's a compromise too with other peoples bandwidth..

Basically I'm just looking for something I can mass upload 20 1.2mb files and be able to have the thumbs script...even better, what I haven't found yet....a mass thumbnail script for all at once...hehe

edit ....oooh..looks like Photobucket has a mass thumbnail script..purty close at 1mb

Nice haul auweia!   Thanks for switching to photobucket!  I too had to stop looking at your pics due to imageshack frustration.  Now I can see them again in all their glory.  Keep up the great pics!

Stop experimenting half way through your first grow. Grow it to maturity, watch it, learn from it. Do this a few times then experiment with different ideas and figure out what works best for you.

these photos are in the East Bay...and thanks!

uh, I should add that these places are a little early..Much of this started a little a couple weeks ago..shady all day..Many places still haven't started to pin yet...me thinks they need a little more convincing, like, 'yeah we're really wet now'

for example here's one spot that I know of very well. No pins at all, but today I overturned one single wood chip and this is what it looks like

doesn't that look like something ready to pop?

Christmas....I've said it before in this forum, the peak is usually around Christmas here, and it's possibly the only place in the world where that happens

EDIT > scratch that...the peak is Christmas in SOME places, but not others...To tell you the truth, because of the unique weather and conditions and habitat here, the peak happens in different places at different times..

come to think of it, compare it to the PNW thread next door..Seattle compared to San Francisco..they had a great season about a month ago, it lasted a short time, maybe....there isn't much postings these days

here in SF it's waaaay different, as you good folks of the shroomery are about to find out...hehe

there's only one way to find out for sure here...Live here in the San Francisco Bay area and get out there and look

and one last thing about the photos posted...this has been debated to no end in other threads about what this is actually called..It's obviously not regular cyanescens, but they are just as good, or rather, an offshoot of them.  Under a microscope, they are similar, even tho they don't look the same

and that is actually the point....again today in this very same spot, I found numerous overturned and rejected specimens, because people CANNOT tell..why?..it's because there is a lack of info about this, no matter what you call it, and my last point is > if you have to look under a microscope to be able to tell the difference, then we're all fucked
Edit  > I should correct this and say some of them got run over...I mean by a MACK truck that backed up into the adjoining fence then proceeded to rip it to shreds when the fence got caught in the fender.( a good 50 square feet ripped up good, out of a 1/4 mile of this spot).sheesh, and people complain when I  pick a little mycelium?

still, I know very well ater years of this very same species, that we have a problem...we have a big problem with identification of this species...It's not even close to being resolved at this point, microscope or no microscope

some of you will have to admit it, eventually....You have no clue what these are......but WE know (some of us at least)...hehe

auweia, you have picked more friscosas than anyone in the world probably.

your bay area capabilities are amazing especially for no car!

nice pics, and i dont even know what a play doh camera is. so many patches in the east bay, and I live in the east bay when I'm not here at college.

if you find em in Benicia, Im gonna flip out.

I might as well tell you...the camera is just a standard Cannon A-530, 5mp, on sale at many places for 150 bucks

Nothing special, but it takes a little work to get some of the focus right...That's my point here...anyone can do it
