Seeing as how this board has sadly died as both a spiritual and intellectual entity,
I would like to now preside over its departure as both a skeptic and pastor of the Universal Life Church..

Lord, thank you for those who have honestly expressed their beliefs using this medium.
They have strived to put forth one belief or another,
unaware of the underlying unity thou hast built into this universe,
they have continually sown conflict
time after time

They have walked away from the path
seeking only their own glorification,
the elect glorified in confounding the naive
the naive glorified in confusing themselves
May they both know peace.

Let the learned know you through nature and its cycles.
Let the hearted know you through your undying love.
And may they both meet in knowing you through the peace that cometh from balance.

Amen.

I find that without conflict (non-violent, mind you), the world becomes a boring, mediocre wasteland lacking individuality and the corresponding unique perspectives. I want the violence to end, but I fear the day when we all agree... even if it is agreement to disagree.
