Your Wall and Base for existing?
    #6277400 -

We all build up our walls and bases that we look to for describing feelings, events, and general existence.  And I call them walls because they filter out a TON of stuff that challenges it (most of the time without even knowing it.)

It seems like my old way of thinking was rather common to the more western scientific mind set.  It was one that takes the mystery from the world. Yeah, things are deep, but really its all just random chaos.  You live, you die and thats it... nothing else is going on behind the scenes.  Your aware for this blink and then your gone.  Every things broken down in laws and formulas.

I feel like this mind set is VERY close minded towards other theory's that do not show immediate scientific prof at first glance.  So I have let my wall slowly fall apart and let it rebuild with less laws that apply to human thought and theory.  Basically.. its brought back the mystery to life.  Which I find much more helpful on leveling with people of different backgrounds.

For me, I think of all the religions in the world and how much they believe in their way of living.  So much so, they would DIE for it.  I mean.. think about that.  They know, without a doubt they have found that truth.  I don't ever want to become like that.  Apparent truth can be so blinding.

I want to be able to take in new ideas about the experience of life and existence without having a filter auto marking them as BS or fairy tails.  Taking down my wall was not something that happened overnight.  It was a slow crumble.. and with out knowing it my thought process had changed towards new ideas and religions.  The whole act of seeing my self change at will was quite reassuring.  (I can still change myself! :smirk:

So, whats your base & wall that helps you live and exist in this experience?

oh yes, I agree. But my heart had become hardened towards the importance of mythology and its value in kindling the human spirit.

A sense of wonder and awe is a wonderful thing to have. Just be careful that you don't let mental afflictions such as ignorance assail you in your quest for appreciation and wonder.

Scientific method is best guess. Others are wilder. Just don't be sure. Then continue.

I'm talking about those who would die for their own beliefs for an apparent truth. I think its amazing that one could give their own life for a way of thinking. One would have to believe it with all of their heart. Getting caught up in a belief system can be so beautiful and also so blinding towards other ways of thinking.

Getting caught up in a belief system, is just like replacing one small cage, for a larger one. What we need is to learn how to fly inside our cages. Then when we are confident, we can break free from all cages and be free from all llimitation and affliction.
