Astral Projection

I've just woken up from what I think was my first astral projection. I was lying on my bed, not fully asleep I don't think, and I started to feel floaty..as if i was turning/moving when i wasn't. The next thing I remember was seeing the downstairs of my house as if i was moving from one room to the next, except my sight faded to black around the outside of my field of vision. Anyway the next thing i remember was lying in my bed again unable to move (good old sleep paralysis) and I was really trying to get up but I was completely stuck. I was looking at my arms and when i tried to move them i could see a floaty green image of my arm move but my real arm stayed in the same place, i guess I was still in control of my "energy body" or something, i dunno.
Quite a cool experience, just thought i'd tell you about it.

You lucky bastard. I've been trying to project for a while now, but I always fall asleep when I try. What you saw, your energy body, was more than likely your etheric body. Most of what I have read says it blue, but I imagine it could be green. I dunno.

Heh heh, I wasn't even trying to project, it just seemed to happen. The fact that it was in the middle of the day probably helped. If you usually fall asleep try it during the day, but maybe then you would be too awake to do anything. Hmm.
Here's a good link about this stuff:

I've just started to read the tutorials and my experience is really similair to what is described...i'm gonna try it again tonight, see what happens.

Congratulations on your first astral projection. The key is not trying to project, but letting it just happen.
I had a little projection mishap last night. Me and a female friend were, well, use your imagination (no we weren't beating up old people) and right in the middle I started to leave my body. Well considering my whole body goes limp when i project I didn't think that would be too good of a thing to do so I tried to force myself back into my body. Well I got back into my body but everything was all messed up. I couldn't see straight everything was the wrong color (all tinted blue and purple) my heart beat was extremely irregular, and I felt drunk as a skunk. After an hour with no change, I ended up getting myself project again, this time allowing for full detachment then got back in my body, then everything went back to normal. Crazy stuff.
Don't beleive everything you know.

I've read "projection" or detachment from ones self is common among physically abused children that take it into adulthood. They usually project themselves into "safe place", into or through walls. Your brain detaches its conscience self from it's physical self to ease the trauma, also occurs in other traumatic experiences.
Probably completely unassociated phenomanon but sounds similar.
And that must have been one HELL of a girl to send you out of your body only to return with hallucinations

You might be interested to know that astral projection is much easier when the body is well rested. (After a good night's sleep) You know that period right in between awake and falling asleep? Make a game, see how long you can stay in that state without becoming fully conscious or falling asleep. It's like balancing a pencil on your finger. Out of Body experiences are often associated with a vibration, a vibration that takes over your whole body right before you go out of body.
The best advice I can give for Astral Projection is dont participate....just observe. Like you are watching a movie you have never seen before and you don't know what's going to happen.

smack, if you usually fall asleep try using a lazy boy recliner or something. just don't lie down.

Darlene: "Oh come now, I don't look anything like James Brown."
Ted: "Hey kids, who does your mom look like in the morning?"
Kids... in unison: "James Brown!"
Darlene, "All right, thats enough... It's poison spaghetti for dinner tonight."

Just keep your head elevated, that will prevent you from falling asleep

Good tip... I'll start doing that.
Is there a certain meditation that would prove to be helpfull, beyond the basic relaxations? I have trouble with visualizations and work better with feelings and sound...

There is a crap load of visualizations you can do.
One that has worked good for me... close your eyes and imagine yourself laying in a boat, rocking side to side.....rocking gently side to side, side to side.
Another visualization is to imagine a cube, about 6 feet above your head. Imagine pulling yourself up to this cube.
Oh yeah you said you have trouble with visualizations.... well if you work good with sound... I highly recommend Hemi-Sync, by Robert Monroe.

i'd say another good visualization it a trampoline. i just imagine myself standing on a trampoline. i will start jumping and putting all my effort into my jumps. with each successive jump i will get higher and higher into the air.
