That only works to their advantage these days. They act like making that comparison has been cheapened. Meanwhile they made that comparison Obama's whole presidency because he made a lot of executive orders.


That comparison is just as fucking stupid.

The comparison does abstract and reduce political literacy.  They are very different things.  If we are going to navigate any power towards the people, it is going to be by improving political intelligence and ability to debate... Not partisanship.. not hyperbole.. REASON and articulation of complex social issues will give power to up and coming communicators to become leaders.

ICE hasn't changed behavior or tactics because of the Trump administration, except having to deal with moralfags who think that ICE is a brand new phenomenon.

Biden pardoned dozens, if not hundreds, of people for crimes they may or may not have committed. Not for crimes they were being accused of/convicted for.

are you referring to Trump encouraging Muslim women to wear the hijab?...

Plenty of presidents have built monuments or done major reconstruction to the White House.

And that's why we use words such as "authoritarian", "dictator", and "autocrat" to accurately define said character traits and belief systems. Whenever Hitler is evoked, literally everyone is going to naturally understand which group was targeted from said mechanisms. The irony being that the ethno-religion that was on the receiving end of those same policies are now the primary beneficiaries under Trump's administration. That's a pretty significant omission to make

The term for this is 'Godwin's Law' ("the longer an online discussion about politics lingers, the more likely it is that someone will make a comparison to Hitler or the Nazis.") Further irony is the fact that this was originally often used to describe conservatives incessantly comparing democrat policy to the nazis (Hitler banned guns, eugenics arguments for abortion, etc..).

You're missing the point. Dictators are a dime a dozen. It's not that trump is trying to be a dictator. It's that he's trying to convert our republic to fascism. That's where the Hitler analogy comes into play.

People are not as dumb as you make out.  They know what trump is saying when he says poisoning the blood just like germans knew when hitler said it. 

If they argue in bad faith that pointing it out is an offence rather then the offense is him saying such stuff and using it to manipulate, those people are just looking for a reason to fuck themselves just cause it feels good not to be on bottom.  No serious person doesn't get what is going on.

Clearly Donald Trump is the greatest scourge on the earth since Cheney. 

Clearly, he would love to be a Hitler..

Of course he is fascistic in his desires.. Beyond any President before him. 

He's not ideological..  He is pathological. 

He is ambitious, like perhaps Stalin, but without his political intelligence.. One could say he is closer to a bizarrely flailing dictator type, like a Pol Pot, who are incredibly dangerous. 

He is capable only of being a big spazz and throwing nukes around, because he knows no better. 

This is a hair worth splitting...
because a Hitler, or Stalin with all their cunning, experience, grit and ability is one horrific thing.. and a Trump with all his pathos and reactionary destructive tendencies is a whole other horrific thing.  This is a HUGE problem and must be dealt with AS IT IS.. not what it has to SOME relation to in the past.  He is NOT THEM.

You can hope that every guard rail set up to balance his power holds for 2 more years.  You can engage every other action your democracy allows to resist his advancements and destructive actions. Maybe... if lucky, some other opportunity to reduce his power arrives. 

If you don't clearly see the difference; it's gonna just be eye roll from here out.

Dude... Hitler spent his entire adult life writing about working toward the expulsion of jewish people from Europe and it's ecconomy. 

Trumps full examination of the "muslim problem" is something like.. 'We have to ban them till we figure out what is goin on here.."

The guy is an asshole who is doing what is suggested to him by people who give him the money and power he has. 

It's a HUGE difference. It serves humanity to recognize it, so that it can be dealt with... RATHER than constantly being one step behind the whole game.

Different?  Trump, before he ran, was sued for not renting to blacks and now we have the civil right division put out commercials for whites that were harmed by DEI to contact them.  He is doing it on multiple fronts.  The muslim fit and was just bonus material to what always was.  The buisness man says they are bad people.  Sounds pretty similar to me.  Insertion into private business.  ect.

    Obamas ice agents received 6 months of training before being put out into the field . Trump thought using his president number would be cool .   The really significant thing about the Obama ICE  operations isn't that they deported more , it's the  number of American citizens they killed , 0 .

That's my point. Using Hitler as a comparison, but only doing so to isolate his government's structure while leaving out the elephant in the room is just poor dialectic. The statements might be accurate or mostly accurate, but the comparison used is just a very poor choice due to that quiet part that's being left out.

because when i was in college i woke up one day and all hte chinese restaurants were closed cause ICE deported their entire staff one morning. it was like a dozen chinese restaurants at penn state. it's not rocket science. ICE isn't new. Their actions are well documented.
