American authoritarianism and Trump

"It seems to be the action side of authoritarianism — the willingness to use government power to eliminate the threats — that is most clear among Trump supporters," he added."
The article basically states that Trump supporters are very afraid people in general, naturally very scared, very timid people. They support Trump because they want to be dominated by a Big Daddy.

If they were scared, they wouldn't go out amongst the crazy violent Bernie supporters and endure the assaults and berating, now would they?

Yeah, demanding that existing immigration laws get enforced and that US trade agreements get renegotiated is seeking authoritarianism.

Naturally very scared, timid people? Nah, that goes to the hipster Bernie fans and the female-trapped-in-a-male-body Clinton fans that freak the fuck out and assault people when they're out of arguments. Trump fans are more scared of the damage that would be done to the country if Hillary wins. Fear is useful in certain circumstances anyway, but stupidity can get in its way. What I'm basically stating is that if you vote for Hillary, you're just too stupid to know what you really should be afraid of.

Seriously? You think you'll be assaulted by Bernie supporters because a small handful of them are violent?
You are one seriously frightened individual.
-------------------- I am in a minority on the shroomery, as I frequently defend the opposing side when they have a point about something or when my side make believes something about them. I also attack my side if I think they're wrong. People here get very confused by that and think it means I prefer the other side.

Then you'll be disappointed, because 99.9% of Bernie supporters are non-violent. Trump scared you, but you can relax.

Videos don't lie, Bernie supporters have attacked defenseless people, mostly women and younger men when they outnumbered them. They're disgusting, they should really focus on burning down the DNC anyway, as their candidate flamed out like a little bitch, it's their only chance now or getting their tax payer funded utopia

Fear is a good tool when you need votes, anger too. You should see their news channel it's fear and anger based. You'd be surprised

I stated "that through the replies here, I see the truth in this article"; that, qman, is a point. The point being I understand and agree with the content of the article and see it being displayed through posts here in this thread
are you having comprehension struggles?

I don't think that was the point of the article, the one I said I found truth in. If I'm wrong please point out where in the article I mis-read.
I normally try not to generalize entire swaths of people. I'm sorry if folks have been calling you those things hostile but, let's not just project our troubles on everyone who doesn't agree?

I suggest you give specific examples instead of using broad generalizations when trying to illustrate a point.
How are the replies here showing truth in the article?

I suggest you let me express myself in the manner I see fit instead of impressing some sort of authoritarian rules over the expressions made in a space for such.
the more you push the further you help illustrate the point
