Many more pics in the agar thread, just a couple highlights here. if you know more about this pink bacteria, whether this is two bact cultures (same species or different?) fighting or what...



Look at that crispy bastard. He's the best of the bunch but there are about 10 that are similarly nice. Fridged the entire gang after taking these photos. Saw the mono bag in there... I really do plan to get back to that and share the technique in detail. Just too busy rn.


Opened the cake that fruited, trying to get some unusually clean spores. Hopefully those drop, but if not, I tapped one against an empty petri. Planning to use these in CW3 coming up.

I haven't enjoyed growing cubes as much as I enjoy growing these bukkake sunrise (x7x+). They deliver some damn nice yields and grow quick AF:rockon: the second flush has started before I managed to harvest the first ones.


480g from a 14 liter tote ain't shabby at all

Couple of Pftek cakes got birthed and dunked yesterday, coir applied this morning (first time with coir on pftek cakes!). Fruiting in a bag like Faht and Bod and several other TCs suggest (Nutella lids for trays :rockon:). This is from a print a kind forum member sent me, wild ochra. Not sure if it's cool to mention names even if from a MP giveaway?

They look like little chocolate cakes. Reminds me when I was in my local and the bartenders were plating up a spent espresso puck and put whipped cream on to give to the new guy :sunny:.

One question I have: when you roll them in the coconut fiber, do you hydrate it beforehand, or do you use it dry and then moisten it afterward?

You overhydrate it. Get it all stuck on nice and evenly. In the fruiting chamber the moisture level equalizes and once the mic takes over it's off to the races!

Getting pins on my Yeti tub. Using Stipes Tek though and being 15 days later has me a bit concerned.

I would be more concerned with the surface, it looks dry, I couldn't find a single bead anywhere, the pic is a little grainy, but usually I can still find water beads. A light misting can get that tub back glistening, you have pins, moisture is important for pinning, then evap more for fruit development.

It’s the photo, the surface is still very wet.

The pinning is occurring just beneath the very top layer of the thick pseudo casing with Stipes tek

I also have a very bad tendency to not LITFA.

Plus there are signs of pinning towards the center.

Hey, at least your honest, we all been there playing with our project a little too much, but you are pinning, and if you have beads, YUP, leaver Be no doubt.  Keep an eye on how fast (or slow) the pins develop, and go from there, but Congrats, Yeti can give up massive amounts of Mushluv.  :laugh:

Oh yeah no. I’ve very much contemplated and and rough drafted a guide about why to LITFA. lol. I have a stupid bad habit of once I mist it once, I feel “obligated” to do it every other day.

It’s 1:4 ratio with 3 quarts of Verm per brick of coir. Gotta fight the urge and ride it out. lol.

Appreciate the desire to help. I just gotta learn to trust the process more.

Oh yeah, no problem, I enjoy others success, along with my own, I was over here visualizing fanning tubs all crazy like... no seriously... all jokes aside, I've been there too with the mister, but soon learned to do as needed, not when I feel like it.  I did this with cannabis growing as well, starting giving them what they need, not what I feel like bottle feeding them, easy to get caught up in hype and products too. 

Back to you, yeah Yeti is usually a bit slow to mature, but be patient, and keep an eye on that surface, it's all that matters.
