More pictures over in the pan thread if interested

And man Kloakk, that's one damn sexy cluster, I would eat that, if I didn't know its ancestry. Really fucking nice.

Pic tax: a bispo bouquet, from the time I used to grow some shrooms every now and then, and spent some time at home (this Spring).

8x ps cyan wedge giveaway open

I finally threw out all the nightmare tubs that I'd been ignoring since going on vacation for the 4th of *mumbling* so this should be the last day of green pics.

The summer sun really did some nice things. Highres has so much going on.

This, specifically, and nothing else, is what Pocahontas was asking about.

Why yes, P-hont, yes I can.

Whatever this black shit is, it's new for me. Is that just mushroom tissue rotting? It's the only thing that got to the ochras, but it got all the ochras.

Even in the same tub as the green, our friend the skull is doing strikingly well. IDK about that metabolite jelly pin, but whatever. Bottom watered him and put it it in a gallon zip, let's see what our man can do in the 9th inning.

It's looking 95+% that somewhere along the way, I put some Tampanensis to grain and labelled it 'Zap VC' because the pseudo sclerotia looking stuff I seen going is most certainly are not pseudo.

I spawned the Zap VC/tlalnelhuayocan (at the same time as working with Tamp...) 25h June to a 80/20 mix of coir & HWFP. This solitary fruit dragged itsself above the surface mid august:

I cant identify from its morphology, given the stress of the boxes for example. It could be a stressed little tamp but I can't help but feel a sort of sect Zap to it. Could be placeeby.

The plate these boxes came from, when resealed, grew what I thought was a psuedosclerotia on the plates edge, but I didn't think too much of it given the sort of chunkiness and yellowing throughout my VC germ plate.
[no pic although I think the plate still exists somewhere near me]

Today, I performed some crude vivisection on the tubs- destroying 2 in the process and keeping/ recasing one.
Kept the truffles to eat/ put some on agar, and I also have the little fruit running on agar already. JUST IN CASE these are somehow overground Zap truffles, rather than stressed tamps. I'd like to find out.

The little fruit throws me off... But I have certainly mixed stuff up before while doing the ol' SAB n dab. I done it with Nats and X7X+ a few years ago.

Here's a few pics, see what you think

Very sparse/faint myc it seems, sub is spongy and doesn't have much integrity although it did hold its shape out of the box..

The whole kitchen stunk of a mealy sort of scent like milled flour, with an almost walnut/weak medicine scent that reminds me of Tamp truffles. But being I have only experienced those, I don't know the scope of scent/presentation between different psilocybe truffle.

Some of these were immature like little pearls and some seemed to use grain as like a nucleation poit.

I need the space for Reishi grows so I did chuck 2 of the boxes to compost, I'll keep my eye on the other in the meantime as well as doing the relevant agar work to get closer to the truth

PESH clone BRF+coir cakes, top fruiting in bonne maman preserve jars in a bootbox water tub.

Same PESH clone, BRF+coir in vitro in a pp5 quart.

RustyWhyte in a takeout tray, next flush getting started. 1 cup wheat and 1 cup coir, trying a takeout tray in a shoebox water tub rather than top-fruiting in a pint jar.

Everything about that smacks of Mexicana to me. What's the source of the tlalnelhuayocan spores or culture and has anyone run an ITS on it? Any others having success with it? I haven't been around much to stay up to speed.

First flush of the third GT (MS) cake/jar inoculated on 07/18.

And another 5 of the 6 GT (MS) cakes from 07/29 went into the dunk today. In the end, those PP5 jars worked out well. And hey, in the end I liked dunking in ziplock bags. The sixth one still hasn't colonized...

Hugs

@ the_chosen_one

Thanks for the look- no ITS far as I'm aware, and heard of noone else mentioning let alone running them on the org- these were an unexpected freebie as part of another giveaway.

As per :pm: this could be Mexicana indeed and a case of mistaken identity.
Could def accept it as being my error- high 90 percents- but the fruit looked nothing like the other tamp fruits I got from my tamp grow. Plus the Zap T2 was not spawned the same SAB session as the Tampanensis accord to my journal, which gives a little distance there for plate mixup (highly improbable)

Hey, if it's Mexicana then I'm really glad to have it in the family!

Typical to have that mix up as I'm running a stone producer though, it's the ideal/ worst time for such a ruse to take place.
:racethread:

just now, at the last minute, a check on my outgoing ratings to place this- and as per someone elses rating of them, the giveawayer was also giving away
Quote:
"Ps. mexicana 'Monte Grande' :print:...Ps. zapotecorum 'Tlalnelhuayocan' :swab:"

checking my mushroom journal, 2 days after my rating for the giveaway " MARCH 8th Zap VC Swab -> 1x water agar, 1x potato agar"
So I didn't have a mexicana MG print labelled Zap, that I know.

Plus the corresponding pictures for that date show both a Zap Tex germ plate done by spore print and cell spreader hence the nice even spread:

and, by comparison the gnarlier Zap VC germ plate done by swab streak:

some differing growth on there, imagine an errant Mexi spore on the Zap swab

So unlikely. Is it?
:sup:

Some alleged toque F13 which is just what I’m gonna call it since that’s what I got it as. And some Australian landrace. I love the white color the Aussie always brings some of them almost come out albino. Definitely a change of pace from my usual brown cubes.
