BEEF HELP





I thought the plastic bag was still watertight, but I must have gotten a hole because this guy has been sitting in the water for days T_T

How do I fix it? Cut off the bottom? Punish the whole thing and figure out a rack for the tub? HALP!

Tupperware should be fine, I leave my PF cakes sit on the jars when I do water tubs.

I got some supplies coming in. My biggest issue is space. I haven't lived in my own apt (in another state) in about 4 years. Having to pack up and move or throw supplies away sucks if you need it.

I dont want to buy a PC because it's too big to move with all my other things and animals in my SUV. So I'm thinking of either buying sterile plates with agar already in it, or trying to figure out my roommate's Instapot.

Rev has had good luck with the 8qt IP for sterilizing grains and agar. Im sure someone has a writeup somewhere on them.

b traven and tao are masters at makin agar in a ip.  reach out. they dont bite much

IP works great for agar. I've used mine for agar in bottles and pre-pour dishes. 500ml media bottles will just barely fit if you use a thin trivet.
The "keep warm" setting will hold a water bath at about 130f, very handy for procrastinating like a pro. 😆

An IP won't quite reach the same temps/pressures that a proper canner does, so grain jars will need longer cycles than they would in a canner.
