Introduced fruiting conditions about a week ago by cutting a slit in the bag.  Misted a couple times.  1st pic shows about the only place that continually has water droplets on it.  No pins yet.  Not sure what my next step should be.  Remove, punish, dino egg, send to tote?

Remove, punish, dino egg, send to tote...

all these are moves you could select when playing MEGAPIRANHA vs. MYCOBAG, the Home Game!!!!!!!

Would it be a candidate for breaking up and placing in a tub with coir or is the dino egg strategy a better bet?

if you have pins happening, thats good - just let it ride to get what you can but give it some moisture. After its given you what it will in its current state, you could try crumbling it with a bit of extra coir and see what it might do when/if it recovers.

No pins yet unfortunately.  Think it's been 9 days since i introduced some air.

Hi, and thanks for helping us folks get started. I've been trying to fruit aa+ from a north spore aio for a month now. It got a bit fuzzy and I misted. Seems to have turned blue. Can't tell if there's any primordia.
Based on initial advice, it seems I should bust the block up and mix it with coir. But is a month into spawn too old?
Any guidance would be appreciated.

I need help with my first monotub, not sure if I should post here?
First flush was crippled by low FAE and all of the shrooms were a few inches tall at best.
Now the substrate is drying out.
I’d really like to get a second flush. I’m wondering if I should case the substrate with coco coir to help?

Hey people! I posted about one of these bags yesterday and was told to leave it the fuck alone, the kind member left a link to this thread so I spent all of last night enjoying reading through this thread......and also the HHG!! I, too have fell victim to the all in one grow bag allure of false hope! Uggghhhh, yes, it's true.
After reading through everything it appears I have been doing absolutely everything wrong. (Stupid YouTube) Anyway, now I'm left in a weird position.
I don't know if my bag is ready to do it's thing or not? It had it's break and shake about 5 days ago and I don't know how white it should be? In fact, I know nothing.....we'll, apart from all the good info I've gleaned here.
What's my best bet? I recon it'll be a shitty harvest if any if I leave it in the bag. I do have Coco at my disposal, amongst other things. Should I leave the fuck alone? Or get that bitch in a tub? My issues are, I don't know how white my bag should be? Also, the sides are so dirty from the break and shake it's hard to tell if there are pins or not. Haven't got a clue my friends, any input or a different point of view would be helpful.
Also, I have three more of these bags to use. Should I inoculate them and just treat them like grain spawn and go to a tub?
Here's the offending item

Appreciate your time......

Brother, I recently went through like 2 dozen bags that I fucked up.

In my opinion your best bet is going to be to go buy you a shoebox for like $5 and boil up some water and 6 liters of coir (or quarts, whatever) and thennnnnm

-Break up that mass of 50:50 sub/spawn (I'm assuming) and throw it in the box.

-add a quart or two of field capacity, room temperature, pasteurized coir to  the box

-mix it real good. Real good. Then level it out very well, then tamp it down with a trowel (or your hand if you're lazy, but the trowel will give better surface conditions for a canopy flush, because the evaporation will occur evenly across the entire surface) pretty hard. After you do that throw another couple quarts on top . Tamp it down again nice and firm.

Congrats, you just did Stipe N Cap's shoebox TEK often called the p9 tek in the forums because of his old username. I'd look it up and become familiar with it.

I like to squeeze the hell out of my coir and make it a little dry, a bit under field capacity and then when I put the top psudocasing on I like to heavily mist it to encourage the mycelium to spread to the water.

Try it out, lmk what you think.

Stop by the new user welcome wagon thread of you have t already and introduce yourself and tell us about your grow and all that, what brought you here etc

Take care

I had two blocks from AIOs, both were fucked and wound up dried out. Decided to punish and dino egg the both. This one looked almost exactly like Beef's initial photo example. Two days later and it's showing some nice and promising white growth! (Not pictured)

I suggest putting something under the dino egg to raise it above the coir in the tub or mycelium will try to colonize the whole thing.

I was thinking of it but then words of wisdom slapped me in the face. Leave it the fuck alone and only do this if on a rescue mission is the vibe I got. I have four more of these useless bags though and they'll definitely be getting the beefy treatment monotub styleee!

It will take a lot longer before it's colonized and fruit, there's no food in coir so a lot of the available resources will be used to colonize the coir, but hey, I haven't seen anyone try it so do it for science.

I have a suspicion that colonized coir would provide less humidity than uncolonized coir.

Okay thanks for the info. I would try it next time, but I won't be using AIOs again. So we'll see what science does this time

Ok, what is meant by psuedocasing? Also, how is the amount of substrate worked out for the size of your tub? I'm not too worried about this grow, it's slowly turning into a block of white cheese with marshmallow on top.......but it would be nice to get something from it. My brick is 1.5kg of pure madness. I did post in the ochra/nats thread and ended up cutting the top off the bag and putting into a tote, I added a trivet to keep it off the bottom and added some water. The lid is ridiculously cracked open and my brick seems dry. Anyone wanna buy some cheese? Do you still think I should break that sucka up and monotub it? I can't find a shoebox size tote here, best I could find was 36/37 litre. ATM time is an issue.,..although I have read HHG and how to rescue a fucked up aio by beef. There's so much info and posts on here it can leave your head spinning like that girl out of the exorcist movie.
I think this might be the rescue phase tbh.........

I just realized you're the same guy in the Ochra thread I was replying too, lol.

Forget I said the word psudocasing. I am talking about making two layers in your tub. One of spawn (mixed 50-50 with coir for cubes, less for Ochras) and the other layer (which I called a psudocasing) is only coir.

You're rescuing this shit, don't stress the ratios bro. Time is of the essence you should break it up asap and put it in a tub. Just shoot for like anywhere from 1:4 -1:7 for your total spawn to sub ratio, you'll be estimating because of your AIO bags of course.
