Psilocybe Cubensis PE Leucistic Revert

Many caps are without spores, tryna print some. The spores have a bloody-red color!

Whatโ€™s with the different phenos Bra, is that normal for machine elf?

I'd say it depends on the strain. I've come across quite a few Machine Elf's golden cap only phenos.
This strain seems to be about 50/50 leucistic. I got it from isolated LC, so I'm curious to see how it'll turn out if I use multispore from that batch of prints.

Neat Gandalfs btw

Hey Bra, are the gills still more of a dark purple? Or do they end up reddish brown when the spores are that red. I can't tell in the picture

Here's a fun one. Bit of an experiment on all ends more than anything else. I made pink oyster (p. djamor) coir cakes for fun but they ended up too packed (probably too much water + coco flour, shit fluffs up hard).

About a week and a half ago I took all of them out, separated the healthy spawn (not much, like 10% of the total substrate volume) from the uncolonized pieces, crumbled the pieces into more coir (for the live bacteria since it was sterilized prior), shoved that shit in the oven for a bit over an hour at 70-75ยฐC.

Took it out, mixed my spawn into it, added a pasteurized coir layer on top in a sandwich bag.

Didn't think it'd make it back so fast, bag smelled funny at first but then remembered that oysters just don't give a fuck.

And there she is. Now to see if it makes it to fruiting properly.

Edit: Better pic. Pinkies have thin ass wispy mycelium so it's hard to take a pic with the bag reflections and stuff.

Also fun observation: The mycelium first rushed up at the top of the coir, made a huge hub there, then started colonizing downwards. Not sure if that's significative of anything though, but found it funny since there's no nutrients up there.
Thinking it's just some kind of survival mechanism or something since there'd be so much random living crap down into the depths. Or that the top is simply less packed is also a possibility.

Slimy bois

I need to get into exotics too at some point. This hobby is like fuckin heroin, almost got itchy veins looking at those juicy pics.

The weirdest part is that it's not even just about consuming them, it's literally just growing that's so fucking addictive

So far since the fall, I've grown just a few dried grams from 8 or so different exotic species, looking for fruits to take clones from... Baeocystis (already a clone of a wild fruit), neoxalapensis, caerulescens, zapotecorum, papuana, subtropicalis, pan cyan, pan cambo.

I've been dreaming of building a fruiting chamber and getting baeos to fruit since I was in my teens. And I just up and did it this year, no way did I think it would actually work.

No luck with the pans or just really low yields? I'd figure those would be friendlier to grow than the more exotic "out there" ones

Great stuff tho man. You'll get it workin out better no doubt.

Sometimes you're stuck thinking you just can't do something for no particular reason when in reality nothing's preventing you from doing it but yourself. Like all it takes is that 'tilt' moment where you realize all it takes is for you to get off your butt and do it because it won't happen on its own.
It's something I actually really finally realized not that long ago for some reason. Feelsgud though.

Right, I never seem to do well with pans. The green wants to eat them every time.

Pasteurization can be tricky I gather. Have you tried out pan-cakes? That might get you some pretty fast since you just have to PC the whole thing away.
