Found another 4 dry grams putting me at almost 10g dry this season! Some fruits even grew like 4 meters from where I placed the mycelium originally. They really love the grass and spread in it like crazy!

Gigantic Serbica I've found. Last of the season.

And look who appeared. One of the patches made this Spring pushed out a single fruit (AZ2 culture)! I'm so happy!

We'll see. We have warmer weather again next week, so maybe. I'm just not going to hold my breath.

So I was able to sample a 0.1 gr dried microdose p. cyanescens yesterday evening.. more of a minidose, as it was quite noticeable. They are different from cubenis and pans. I noticed more clarity in the mind and a glow starting from the legs. Felt more 'normal' than an equal amount of anything else. Pleasant surprise.

Anyway, would like to say thanks to Tweeq!
Loved the patches...
:gonnaneedmyglasses:

already inoculated some grain and made a few clones yesterday.. and got some bags with chips going.. tossed the leftover fruits in there, thx man

Hey 0to thanks to you as well!

So we have two consecutive nights of frost coming in unfortunately. Not gonna just let my fruits die and do nothing about it so I carpeted my cyans and the whole of the azzie patch with leaves in hopes of providing just enough protection for a couple of cold nights.

If it works it works and if not at least I tried. Got a good feeling about this though. Sure it will restrict fae a bit for two days but we'll see.

Will report back here

Well we had 2 nights of freezing temperatures, with the second one being the worst with -7C and freezing all next morning as well.

Time to take the leaves off and take a look at the Azurescens:

And the Cyanescens:

Looks like they are mostly fine
May have lengthened the season considerably with this action. Depending on the temps in the coming days/weeks.

It's been very wet as well and yesterday morning there was some ice forming on the wet fruits but so far I'm very happy I put the work in. Temps are back to just above freezing, hopefully for just long enough to get something more out of these flushes.

I fucking love cyans, definitely a favorite.  If you ever want to send it, make tea with a bunch of freshies and guzzle it.  Best trips of my life, highly visual with that warm glowing feeling in the center of the chest.

I absolutely will, also chewed on the dried fruit for a while which didn't taste that bad/bitter.. bit woody with some smokiness to it.
Planning to make tea as PrimalSoup makes it, with 2% citric acid by weight, store the concentrated tea in ice cubes.

Will be an interesting time as I'll be sampling subtropicalis in the upcoming year for sure.. and with a bit of luck papuana too (still waiting for fruits after a month) and zapotecorum (on grain).. would be beautiful to see how cyanescens fills in.

Hey guys, quick dumb question: do you sterilize your FWC before adding spawn?

Extras: Filter Print Post Top
Re: The Official Woodlovers Thread [Re: barnhouse] * 2
    #28064451 -

Wait, what’s FWC?
Edit
Oh I looked it up.  Fermented wood chips?  Nah, there’s some theory that the myc uses the dying anerobics to colonize, or that the culture from the fermentation is beneficial, I don’t know about all that.  I do know that fresher fermented chips don’t need to be sterilized, but I do know that Coprinopsis makes it through the fermentation and will start colonizing chips along with your Psilocybes.  Kind of a competitor in containment.  So I’ve started sterilizing all my aged chips cause there’s a lot of other stuff living In Them.  But fresher cleaner chips do fine putting grain to them right out of the fermentor.
Edit 2
Sterilized Vs. Fermented chips thread
Neat thread, too bad they didn’t continue it through fruiting season.  Kinda makes you assume the worst.

They can grow in freezing conditions. Throw some leaves on the patch.

The first year I found them really late after I thought they crapped out. Boy was I way wrong!

Cool baba. My subas are along with serbica, pseudoaztecorum, cyan, azur, gyms buried under leaves and snow.

The only faint hope ahead to december, is that the garden beds
are planning to fruit in the daytime during the temperatures of 48F/6C~roughly during the day that we still have.

Night temps have falled to freezing, 30-20F.

its 35F right now in the garage

It's not the freeze specifically, it's our fucked up weather in western Indiana. We had an unusual drought this summer, hotter than normal temps, and for the past 2 months we've had every season on random for 10 days at a time each.
