First it was The Scientific American after 175 years. Now it's the New England Journal of Medicine breaking a 208 year old streak of trying to stay out of politics, and publishing an editorial saying that the current political leadership of the United States must be voted out of office.

You can sense their discomfort at politicizing. They don't mention Trump by name and they don't say vote for Biden, but their message is clear. Trump is the engineer of the utter mismanagement of the Corona crisis.

Trump is suggesting that he got infected from his close contact with the families of soldiers killed in action.

It's possible. On one level it's kind of brilliant because who could fault him for that. But he's failing to take into account that most of the country will like him even less for having said it.
