Let's not forget that Turkey is part of NATO, has American nuclear weapons are in their country, and Turkey is allied with the US.  That makes it a little more difficult to determine with whom we should now work with.  :shrug:

And yeah they want Biden, they’re just giving Liz the megaphone so she drowns our Bernie (they hope).

The point of my original comment is there’s only so much we can do to hold the media to account, the left makes gains by organizing outside of existing power structures. We should be promoting independent media and good journalists, but scolding Disney Corp for fake news probably doesn’t help the situation much. Ideally we get a bunch of people on both the left and right to denounce corporate media and create a media structure based explicitly around fact. In reality, all it’s done is cause Trump supporters to dig their heels in and trade Brian Williams’ lackluster credentials in for Ben Shapiro’s nonexistent credentials.

Reports coming out now that Trump wants to levy tough sanctions on turkey for invading northern Syria.

I’m calling bullshit for a bunch of the reasons you listed. But not only that, Trump is trying to save face. Rudy Giuliani will say some dumb shit on TV in a couple days and the media will forget all about the Kurds, and his base will be content with his apparent commitment to sanctions turkey at some point maybe in the future.

Also, thought I should mention/remind people that Trump has an admitted "conflict of interest" with Turkey since he has a hotel built in Istanbul which very likely could have been nearly 100% of the reason for his decision regarding the Kurds. Occam's razor, these situations might not really be as complex as people try to make it seem imo. Trump is not a complicated person, I would say he's more like a 2-dimensional caricature of human corruption.

This seems to be why people like fal have taken to resorting to this convoluted argument style of trying to string together various excuses for siding with a particular point. It's just more cheap tricks to distract and deflect from the aspects that obviously need attention. Here's a tip, if someone feels that they need to exhibit the attitude of an asshole in order to make a point, it's just so they can bluff their way into making it "seem" like they're right. People have been doing this kind of shit since way before Trump but he's the main person who has made these problems so obvious.
