Caps and overall size can be impacted by CO2 build up.
How was your fresh air exchange?

Also they look like Malabar not B+
Maybe mislabel?

More than likely supplemented sawdust, most gourmet varieties do their best on these.

Off the top of my head, a virus of some sort?
I believe they can cause some mutations such as odd pigments in flowers that normally wouldn't happen.

These all from the same plate?

Yep. Those babies are hydrated really well. From the looks of it. The more hydrated they are the more you wanna make sure there dry before jaring up to sterilize. Lol. Seriously though.

That wheat looks perfect given it was just mixed up.

In my experience large grain without a hull like wheat and I assume rye is too dry when it passes the paper towel test.  Oats hold that extra moisture with the hull. You just can't see it

Stronk Boi here broke on through to the other side, broke my substrate in half for being a bottom mushie. Turned out that there were actually two in there (this is just some 5th flush shenanigans, excuse the substrate/weakness). Still, I was pretty shocked when I opened the shoebox to find this! I hope he comes on as strong as his digging skills are :wink:
