you do anything special to get ovoid to germinate? I seem to remember reading about others having trouble with this.

Nothing special..it was my first time using a loop. Maybe i just got lucky by using too much for one plate

Cloned a mushroom from a B+ grow that i liked.
I've never cloned before. I was wondering how much further i should take this.
Or just take it to grains now?

That looks pretty solid! Those sectors are nice, how many transfers did it take to get to that point?

1 transfer. It's pretty cool stuff. I just dont know enough about it. I mean i can get clean transfers but I've never cloned before.

Roger Rabbit has a video on strain isolation using agar and mushroom tissue for cloning which is pretty awesome

Peel a mushroom open to expose deep tissue. Use clean tool of your choice to remove a sample. Place tissue sample on agar. Transfer as usual.

Use it, pick a fruit from the next run to clone, and isolate that way... you'll know exactly what you're getting then

but that would be cloning a clone right? That plate is already a clone. I hear thats not good to do.

I've done it with 3 generations on agar before going to grain... awesome culture... a clone will still contain multiple strains, and a wide array of genetics... it's not advised to continue this way, once you have an isolate, slant it for cold storage and expand from it for several months, even a year or 2 of it's kept clean and given 24-48 hours to recover each time a transfer is taken...

You can clone a clone just after numerous generations they can get funky. :shrug:
